i mean , i didnt know they were still around.i m so glad to hear someone to mention a Cosmic Rough Riders release. i absolutely adore "Enjoy the Melodic Sunshine" .i m afraid that "When you come around" is an old CRR's song taken by their 2006 album "The Stars Look Different From Down Here". Wink

Yeah, Bon Iver.

i won't count bon iver as a 2008 release. it was easily available to all those who download torrents in 2007. if you don't download then i can see counting it as a 2008 release (due to its release on jagjaguwar), but if not it feels like counting an album you missed from the year before as an album that came out in the current year. that being said, i'm pretty sure skinny love made my list last year.

also, i should have ranked dan friel higher.

Weezer - The Angel and the One

The closest they've come to the glory of "Only in Dreams" off their debut.

AGREED.

wow, i'm even more psyched for the new sigur ros album now. sounds different from their other stuff, with the chanted back up vocals and thudding drums (almost freak folkish). while i loved takk, it was nothing new. maybe this new album is them changing things up, getting creative and such. lets hope the rest of the album is as good as the first song.

I'm gonna have to say I was not so impressed with the new Sigur Ros song. It's not bad, and I do hope they will switch things up a bit on their next album. But it really sounds like Sigur Ros after they have been listening to a lot of Animal Collective.

i like the video also, but did you notice the incredible lack of diversity? i know they are from iceland, so if filmed there it should be no surprise that there are not black, middle eastern, etc. people running among them. however, just about everyone was rail thin, pale, and brunette, and long haired which i found odd. do red heads, blondes, fatties, etc. not live in iceland?
