Hmm, you think?
"Creeper" is alright, it's a solid track, but I don't think it comes close to being as catchy as "Rough Gem".

Adding to the list:
Ruby Suns - Kenya Dig It?
Annuals - Sore
Sunfold - Between The Worlds
Dodos - Walking
Dodos - The Park
Ghosty - Dumbo Wins Again

The No Age single, Eraser is fantastic, one of the best songs I've heard all year. The album overall is great as well, not that I've heard it yet or anything....

I don't know whether this has been talked about yet but Weezer's new single 'Pork & Beans' is streaming at http://www.weezer.com/

The lyrics seem rather silly: 'Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the chart/ Maybe if I work with him I can perfect the art'. I quite like it though Razzer

Still so far behind the curve this year...haven't heard much, but what I have, these are the locks for my year end mixes I do for my best friends. (* = Strong song of year contender)

Vampire Weekend - Oxford Comma, Walcott*, Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa
Black Mountain - Stormy High
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks - Hopscotch Willie*
Erykah Badu - American Promise
REM - Living Well is the Best Revenge
Hot Chip - Made In The Dark
DeVotchKa - Transliterator, Undone
Flogging Molly - The Lightning Storm, On the Back of A Broken Dream
Sons and Daughters - This Gift, Goodbye Service*
Goldfrapp - A&E
MGMT - The Kids

Like I said, way behind, been focusing on Coachella Acts last, picked up ton of stuff recently, hopefully have more to add by June.

Early impressions though...a much harder rocking, more diverse sounding year than last year, not nearly as much power pop (though not surprising given how ubiquitious catchy pop was last year)

How is the new Flogging Molly album? I believe this is the first time I've seen it mentioned on these boards. I really enjoyed Within a Mile of Home, and I keep meaning to pick up Float and just haven't gotten around to it.

Consistent, but far, far from great...one of those albums where none of the songs are bad, but where little really grabs you either.

Yeah, Weezer's got a little swagger back... this sounds almost like something from The Blue Album.

The song takes El Scorcho's crazy lyrics and bouncy verses and combines them with the power choruses off of Blue. While I don't think it's as good as either, I like it quite a bit as well. I will also add a couple more songs:

The Whigs - Right Hand On My Heart
Jon Foreman - The Cure for Pain

Lykke Li - Little Bit

I'm obsessing over this song at the moment. No doubt I'll find it really annoying in about a week, it's just so damn catchy!
