I haven't heard anything from the TVOTR front in a while. Sitek seems busy elsewhere, so who knows. I'm eagerly awaiting whatever they put out next though.

An intriguing list.

Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been,
Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene;
As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be,
So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

And what about THE WRENS? Their Meadowlands is now my second favourite album of the decade so far (behind only Turn On the Bright Lights). Wikipedia says they work 'hard, but slowly' on their new one... Sounds funny.

A year or so ago one of the Wrens denied the rumor that the album was half-done by saying that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING had been done on the new album. Sounds to me like they basically they took 4 years off. I mean, I love The Meadowlands as much as anyone, but I'm not sure you can even call the Wrens a band anymore. I mean, bands have to make albums right? They're about as much of a band as My Bloody Valentine is.

My mate went to see them at the Glasgow Barrowlands a couple of weeks back, and said it was amazing. They were handing out free ear plugs apparently, but he didn't wear any. The last half hour was a wall of noise designed to destabilise the foundations of the building (his words), and he claims his ears are still buzzing. Sounds shit. I never really liked them...

See, now that makes no sense to me. Why not just turn the volume down? Doesn't that have the same effect as wearing earplugs only without the annoyance of having to wear earplugs?

Okkervil River has leaked. I don't think the quality is great though judging by the file size.

The idea of a Postal Service record being released this year has been rubbished by various musical sources and media outlets (the internet isn't working today so i'm having trouble locating an easily decipherable link). I'm starting to get the feeling no one ever bothers to read any music-related news.

Apparently the 15-minute note is transcendent at MBV shows. First you're annoyed, then angry, then slowly you accept it, and then finally you're blissful.

Well, i never liked the idea of such exhilatating noise... Blissful or not blissful, it can be simply harmful for the health.
