It is a replication of last year's topic suggested by Dark Lord of the Sith:

Not necessarily your #1 pick for best album, but the album that you just can't get enough of and listen to more than the others.

If your most listened to album isn't one that was released this year, that's cool.

My picks:

Arcade Fire (both albums)

Radiohead - In rainbows (I can't get enough of this record, it is stil growing on me, definitely the best album of 2007)

My Morning Jacket - Z (waiting for the new one in june!)

LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver (what a year 2007 was!)

2008 Records (two of them, far more listened than others):

Bon Iver - Emma ...
Portishead - Third

According to my iPod Play Count (which i don't put much weight in because it only counts those songs that you listen to the entirety of, which my ADD kind of spoils), these are the albums of the year that i have listened to the most:

1. Foals - Antidotes (I'm very surprised, but I've listened to every song at least 20 times all the way through, yeeesh)
2. BORIS - Smile (Japanese Version, though the American version is making its way up the list)
3. Portishead - Third
4. NIN - The Slip ("1,000,000" being my most listened to song of the year so far)
5. My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges (Strangely, "Evil Urges" & "Highly Suspicious" are top-10 songs played by me for the year, so i guess I'm of the minority that doesn't mind those tunes).

2008 albums:

Langhorne Slim - s/t
Jason Anderson - "The Hopeful and the Unafraid"
The Mountain Goats - "Heretic Pride"

Other albums:

Bob Dylan - "Blonde on Blonde"
Okkervil River - "Down the River of Golden Dreams"

Pretty standard artists for me...

I never hated any of you/I loved you all at the time

Hercules and Love Affair - Hercules and Love Affair
Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago

I have not gotten even close to tired of 2007 releases, and am already getting bored with 2008 releases. I hope '08 gets better, or it mihgt jus be '07 was so good.

*Edit - The Atlas Sound album slipped my mind. Defenitely one I listen to before I fall asleep almost every night. Gives me exciting dreams. And Black Keys - Attack and Release, a relatively weak release but I love the Black Keys. Razzer

Based on what Last.Fm tells me...

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago (47,15)
The Microphones - The Glow Pt 2(23,10)
The Dodos - The Visiter (14,6)

Although my stats are a bit low because well last.fm doesn't scrobble my ipod properly...

Once they design a version of Last.fm that scrobbles the CD player in my car, my numbers are going to sky rocket.

Subtle especially gets a ton of rotations in my car stereo. and I spend sometimes 3 hours a day in the car...

You go into the Charts tab, and you can choose to show overall, weekly, past 3 or 6 months for artists, albums or songs.

Most listened to of albums in 2008 for me (with # of song listens)

1 The Unicorns – Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? 69
2 Pixies – Doolittle 68
3 Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea 66
4 Animal Collective – Sung Tongs 58
5 Joanna Newsom – The Milk-Eyed Mender 57
6 Spoon – Kill the Moonlight 53
7 Spoon – Gimme Fiction 47
8 Broken Social Scene – You Forgot It in People 42
9 Neutral Milk Hotel – On Avery Island 40
10 Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Clap Your Hands Say Yeah 38

Most listened to of 2008 is Bon Iver, Vampire Weekend and Last Shadow Puppets, though MGMT and Dan Friel will be catching up pretty quick! And I second that they need to make the car CD player scrobblable.

For me they just need to fix the ipod scrobbling.. Its a little better now I remember to used to listen to my ipod for a few days a ton and then I'd plug it into my computer and when the scrobble box would come up it'd be like 1 song that I hadn't even listened to run on sentences ftw
