They are "going electronic." I can't wait for the entire forum to immediately say it sucks in comparison to Kid A.
I'm pretty sure they meant in a more "dance" electronic way. Something along the way they were going with "Supermassive Black Hole" on the last album.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

Muse last album is my least listened to of all their albums. No particular reason for that... I'm a big fan of the band, and I didn't think the album was poor. In fact, I didn't even listen to it enough times to form an opinion. Weird... maybe I'll listen to it this afternoon.

Ha! Now that's a good one.

The reason I have trouble raising my expectations for Massive Attack and Portishead is, well, Air.
I wouldn't be surprised if either of their albums is really great, but I have to be skeptical of any new release from bands whose great albums are trip hop. None of them have had much success since 1997.
Doc note, I dissent. A fast never prevents a fatness! I diet on cod.

Wikipedia says they considered hiring an orchestra.
two groups to discover absolutely in 2008: as already mentioned several times: Beach House but also Pattern is Movement http://www.myspace.com/patternismovement
I think they're gonna be the real thing in 2008.
Also: A Silver Mount Zion, Xiu Xiu, Wolf Parade, Man Man.
Happy New Year MC members! I'm looking forward to Destroyer and Tapes 'n Tapes new albums.

It’s defiantly a great collection to have. Don’t get the individual albums, that's stupid. Disc two may be the best of the three, but the other ones are very good also. Quite a minimal album at times, and little all over the place (alternative: folk, new wave, rock, country, a cappella…).

Talkie Walkie is my favorite release from Air...and they don't really sound much like M.A. or Portishead. I'm interested in new Portishead Portishead...a lot of bands I've really liked over the years have been compared to them.
Also: new Wolf Parade! Woo! LupEND is on my must buy list, too.

A new Man Man album is coming out. That one I'll for sure be picking up.
I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor I was back to pondering my mortality.

I was listening to Fort Recovery by Centro-matic the other day (my favourite record of 2006) - anyone know whether they have anything in the pipeline for 2008?

Yes! I love the Magnetic Fields, and I've been waiting for a new release under the MF moniker for ages. 'I' was good, but I'm hoping the new one will be better.

Really looking forward to this one. Malkmus' solo work just keep getting better, and hopefully this shouldn't be any different. Plus, Janet Weiss is drumming on this record!
