Need ALL your help in choosing two of the following....
1. Raconteurs 2. Why? 3. Foals 4. Benga 5. The Breeders
Looking for longevity....already cancelled out tapes'n'tapes, Nick Cave.....
I've only really given a full listen to The Ranconteurs, Why?, and the Breeders. From those three, though, definitely pick Why? - Alopecia. It's pretty unique, yet pretty pop oriented and is replete with tons of nice melodies. I've listened to several of Benga's tracks, but dub/minimal isn't really my genre and nothing grabbed in from what I heard.
Thanks....I've listened to snippets from all of them, and I am kinda down to Why? and Benga so far....So, I'll stick to Why? for sure, as it sounds most different/interesting.....

I haven't listened to the Breeders, have only listened to the Raconteurs once, and I didn't think Foals was overly impressive. I strongly recommend Benga and Why?

Either 1 & 4, or 2 & 4. I can't find the Benga album anywhere in town but the Raconteurs album is on sale at Best Buy, I think.

I just read that Circulatory System are going to release a new album this year. If so, then 2008 will be a really good year for music! If it is half as good as their first album I'll be happy. If it is equally good or better...well let's just say I'll be listening to it alot.

Is this true?! Please tell me, is this true?! I loved the Circulatory System debut, and I'd love to get another album by them. Most things Elephant Six are pretty high quality, and I'd love another album by the remnants of Olivia Tremor Control. Yes! Yes! Oh I'm so excited. Completely agree with DimsiRupsi: will be played all year long if its even half as good as the debut.

First Circulatory System, and now P4k are reporting that Deerhoof are releasing a new album in autumn. What a year this is shaping up to become! (Of anticipated concerts, I am looking forward to Øyafestivalen in Oslo in August: The National, Okkervil River and The Dodos on the same day!! Try and come up with a better line-up than that. Can't wait!

The new Circulatory System has been mentioned several times in the E6 Town Hall by prominent members of the board.... and it has been discussed for a while now. I doubt they've actually heard it, just heard news of it from band members.

Now that you mentioned it, I picked up some tickets this morning to MMJ in Louisville in August. ALSO, Does anybody know anything about the new Brian Jonestown Massacre album that was supposed to be out this month? I can't seem to locate it. Anybody?

It's a studio track, and it sounds pretty sweet. ---------------------------------- Employee of the month awards are the opiate of the masses. For the potheadsGang Starr

It's a studio track, and it sounds pretty sweet.
The whole album has finally leaked in decent quality, for those of you who are looking for it.

Look out for the genre police! Actually I agree. Punks pretty much saw most 70s music as overendulgant, including krautrock. So they really don't go together at all.
I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor I was back to pondering my mortality.
