I've been traveling a bit lately so haven't been on Metacritc much, but had to mention that my most looked forward album of the year Evil Urges by MMJ announced they will have 14 tracks. I was already looking forward to it as much as you believe and I know I hear it's 14 songs. I'm sensing an epic album.

Sounds like The Thermals are working on a new album. Hopefully that will come out this year, as The Body, The Blood, The Machine was one of my favorites, if my favorite, record of a great 2006.
I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor I was back to pondering my mortality.

Well, Stefan Anion says he's working on an album, so I'm excited about that, and Future Funk Squad's Technology, Don't Fail Me Now should get released soon. And if we're really nice, we may get a Cicada sophomore effort. And there's a new Deepest Blue album somewhere on the horizon.
I'm really excited about Shearwater's Rook. The single by the same name that is floating around is excellent, and Palo Santo was an amazing breakout album.

Thanks to this I'm more excited for the new MMJ album than ever. It sounds fantastic.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

Except for "Highly Suspicious", I think it sounds like a throwback to "It Still Moves" - exactly what I was hoping for.

I F*ing love Shearwater, so that is exciting! Have you heard the ep, Thieves? It has some great tunes too.

Hopefully it's a little more interesting than Chris Walla's solo work.
I've been hearing the new single from Narrow Stairs, "I will possess Your Heart" on the radio a lot lately. It sounds like the subdued, hi-fidelity approach they took on Plans, as Gibbard's vocals are the center piece as the track is slow building and hypnotic. Though with this single it doesn't sound like they are taking a new direction or returning to their roots, I'm still excited for the new album. I think it will be hard to follow Plans, which I thought was their most solid album to date, but I guess I'll wait and see.

I just realized the other day that Death Cab has never really made a solid "Album", in my opinion. They have made albums where I really liked every song on the album, but it was always just a collection of really good singles. I think Transatlanticism and Plans, although my least favorite Death Cabs are really their best albums.
This realization has made me more excited about the new album, for some reason. Maybe I'm just preparing myself to be less critical, and looking forward to a few really good songs.
