Yeah that's a good idea, EXCEPT (and that is a very large EXCEPT) Protest the Hero will top the list with a whole 5 reviews. More people need to review that album because i listened to it and, GOOD GOD, it's absolutely terrible. Coheed & Cambria gone metal? Or perhaps Avenged Sevenfold imitating Rush? That album is a stink-nugget, and needs more reviews before it can sit atop the best albums of this year.

Yeah it is a bit misleading because at first it appears there are a lot of high scores. But a few of the top album have less than 15 reviews and don't include some of the big guys.

OK, so she told me that they are going to be working on it, they have a lot on their plate right now. Also, a lot of the editors work in different areas (Music works on Film, Games in TV, etc.) so they really get overworked. Just be patient.

Suggest that they should up the number of reviews necessary to make the top 30 list. That aught to go over well!

Yeah, I'm looking ultra-forward to the top 30! I can bet by the looks of things in music this year that if Protest the Hero doesn't get any more reviews that it'll end up the best album of 2008.
But, yeah, the top 30 is my favorite feature of Metacritic so...

Cokemachineglow just gave Protest the Hero a %36. I hope that knocks that turd down substantially. Please? Pretty Please. It's god awful... seriously, horrendously god awful.

How much longer do we have to wait for the 2008 Top 30...it's the number one reason I come to this site...year's already a third over.
Dear Metacritic, listen to this man. Please and thank you.
...you should go to the "music" section. in that page go to "upcoming & recent releases" (left of that page) and click "sort by score"... i suposse that you can have what you want...
Maybe I never really payed that close of attention, but I'm confused at the difference between a special "Top 30" section and just doing what sk suggested above.

There isn't a difference really. I figured this out a couple weeks ago and it fits the purpose well enough. The reason I was skeptical at first is because I always remember that list as being imcomplete and erratic for some reason, but it's been good to me so far in '08.
Truthfully, I don't frequent the main website particularly often. I prefer to run through the zines of my choice in addition to perusing the innumerable lists and recommendations around here. So there...
