Who is the next villain you would like to see in the Spiderman series? They opened up the possibility for three new villains in Spidey 2:

Green Goblin 2
Venom
The Lizard

Personally, I would hate to see the Green Goblin 2 opened up even though that is probably who will win. Sam Raimi said that he didn't really like villains like Venom and Max Carnage.

Harry taking over where his father left off as Green Goblin will probably be where the next one goes. Venom and Carnage would have to be too CG and would probably look silly. Hobgoblin could be a next step in the series since the Hobgoblin was a guy who found some of Norman Osborne's weapons hideouts and tried to perfect the special serum that gave him his strength. I wouldn't mind seeing Sandman or Scorpion as the next villain. They could probably do some cool stuff with Sandman.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back.

The villain I would like to see most is Mysterio! The characters' background as a film effects wizard could take the movie to amazing places as far as digital effects can go. One of my favorite Spidey comics is the one where he is trapped in Mysterio's amusement park of death!
You are right that Sandman could also be very cool!

If you have nothing to add to the topic, why bother saying anything? Trying to get your title to match your name? I've never cared much for know it all's, so how about there are no more of them?!

I didn't tell you what you can or can't do, I asked why you would contribute to something you don't care about. When I go to a Spider-Man thread I tend to expect that the people there will be offering their opinions on the subject. When I go to the villain topic, I figure I am going to read someone's opinions on villains for a Spider Man movie. There is a thread here called Spiderbore 2 if you just wanted to dis the Spider Man series. I don't care if you don't like the series, but saying let's have no more villains is being negative with no explanation or opinion on why. I come here to share opinions, not redundantly say that because I don't like something it shouldn't exist anymore. You won't find me over in the Harry Potter thread offering opinions on upcoming films, because I don't give a shit about Harry Potter and think that they are stupid, but I'm not going to senselessly flame something for no reason.
Personally, I dislike the title of know it all under my name, as I feel that is an insult, and I would never be so pretentious as to label myself that, but, I didn't put it there. No intention to insult you and I am certainly not offended, but why would anyone come to a forum for any other reason other than that they do care about other people's opinions? I care about yours and it doesn't matter if it is different or not, but it's pretty hard to offer a respectable opinion in one sentence.

I read that Thomas Haden Church (from Sideways) will be the new villain in SM3. Does anyone know who he's gonna play????

Sam Raimi & Co. seem to have gone out of their way to keep the name of the villain a secret, so I don't know if it'll be one of Spidey's regulars or somebody new.

According to something I found online, Haden Church will be The Sandman and the Hobgoblin will be present as well.

i'd like to see Electro. But not the spandex clad Electro from the comic...more the energy based Electro from the MTV animated Spider-man. That'd be bad ass.

Apparantly Topher Grace is actually more likely to be playing Electro, and Thomas Haden Church has been officially cast as Sandman.

First picture of Sandman.

And unless the studio is pulling a fast one, Topher Grace is Venom.

Wow! Cool! Some cool villains there! Sandman is one of my favourites, I love Electro as well but, as you've said, it'll be Venom. But is Topher Grace creepy enough to pull it off? We shall see. I have high hopes for the next Spidey movie.

I know what you mean. I can't believe Venom is in the film. Well I hope he is anyway. I thought spider man 2 was good so I'm hoping this one will be even better.

I saw 2, and I guess I sorta saw the first. And I thought they were both fine, you know. But for some reason I'm magnetically DRAWN to 3. Like I think it's going to be the best thing ever. From that trailer m.leland posted there's going to be a lot more Venom in it than I thought. I figured Spidey would throw the symbiote off toward the end, save the day with inner fire and stuff, and then it would find Brock at the end to kind of set up another sequel. The part where Sandman is in the street and turns into a funnel of dust storm blows me away (ZOMGPUN)

Anyway, I'm going to say the Rhino man because nobody else has and he would make the most ridiculous looking one IMO Big Grin
