These guys have been putting out some pretty great stuff as of late. Just wondering if anyone has developed a fondness for the Jagjaguwar roster.

Black Mountain
Minus Story
Okkervil River
Ladyhawk
Oneida
Parts & Labor
Richard Youngs
Pink Mountaintops
Wilderness

Not to shabby from my view

I tend to look at Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar as one label since they're so closely affiliated. I really think Secretly Canadian has put out better stuff than Jagjaguwar, but I really like that new album by Ladyhawk. I'm really not too crazy about some of the other major indies like Sub Pop, Merge, and Matador. Actually, now that I think of it, Sub Pop has put out some really good stuff. Still, I think Domino and Secretly Canadian/Jagjaguwar are the two best labels going today.

Besides those artists mentioned, I also like Catfish Haven and The Impossible Shapes on SC. I haven't seen the Ladyhawk album yet or heard anything about them. Great labels, better yet, great hometown labels.

I don't find myself listening to much off the label, but I do have an anecdote to share.

I worked at an Arby's for a while (ten months) in Lawrence, KS, and one of the members of Minus Story was an assistant manager at the other Arby's in town. But he would occasionally work at my Arby's and is a really cool guy. And I won ten bucks from him on a bet about football. True story.

i think jag jag laid out more stellar records this year than alot of heavier hitters, namely matador... matador is bomb for re-issues, but in terms of fresh talent, i think jagjag is among the most prolofic

If I haven't heard of a band, seeing that they're on Jagjaguwar definitely is enough motivation for me to check them out.

This story, while totally uneventful, is an amazing story.
