I have recently begun exploring the avant garde side of modern music and am delving into a lot of 60's electronica and minimalism experiments.

I have found that Tony Conrad's label

TABLE OF THE ELEMENTS

is awesome especially for old John Cale releases.

The website is supposed to be http://www.thesandwalkingcompany.com
but it doesn't work.

Anybody have any insights into how I could find the label in order to purchase direct???

This is a toughie, any help is greatly appreciated.

Beefheart's Grown Fins rarities were out on Table of Elements too. I don't think they have a website but lots of other avantgarde music labels carry that stuff. Check http://www.forcedexposure.com/ or http://www.waysidemusic.com/ (Cuneiform Records). I buy Cuneiform records at a decent frequency, although I'm not sure they carry Table of the Elements albums. If you search you can sometimes get obscure minimalist, chamber rock, avant ensembles, jazz at bargain prices. Forced Exposure though carries Table of the Elements stuff.

I really appreciate it guys,

Much abliged.

It's so frustrating finding out about groundbreaking music and then scouring online music stores unsuccessfully for days on end because it's too obscure to find.

Boomkat.co.uk has the best selection and hype of avant and you can listen to large samples of all the artists.
