I thought this was the most appropriate place since he co-founded Atlantic Records. Atlantic originally was more of a jazz label whose roster included John Coltrane and Ornette Coleman, but quickly moved into R&B and then in the late 60's into Rock 'n Roll. More than one in the industry have characterized him as one of the music visionaries of the last half century. The history of American music is better off because of him.

I found a documentary about how he built up that label. I think I should go back to the store and purchase it.
