Is there a Music Label out there that u are in love with?I mean like...you buy everything they put out no matter what?Ok...maybe there are some exceptions. Here goes...I will go first.

Morr music-

I dont know a whole lot about how this label started or what. But i know it is based in Germany...and is run by a guy named Thomas Morr.He sounds cool.
This label kind of runs through alot of styles of electronic music all at once...and it mostly come out really really smooth.Perfect production always...good packaging...and an intersting website.
There are numerous albums i have bought and numerous artists that i would categorize as awesomely awesome.Including...
Lali puna
Ms. John Soda
Styrofoam
B.Fleischmann (my personal fav)
Populous
Christian Kleine
Manual
The Go Find
Solvent (Solvent City is awesome)

So if u have some time or are interested check em' out.I am sure you wont be dissapointed.Unless you dont really like good music?

Ersatz Audio is the label owned by Detroit electro duo Adult. Besides Adult., the label also currently consists of fellow Detroit-based electronic artists Magas, Tamion 12 Inch, and Goudron. Most of their releases have shared a similar aesthetic; 808 drum machines and primitive synthesizers. I can't say if this statement will continue to be true. Adult.'s most recent release is them covering soul-glam-garage rockers the Dirtbombs and Tamion 12 Inch switched from standard Ersatz Audio electro to something closer to the Slits on their debut full length.

well, it would be easy to list all of the sweet labels i enjoy, but here (in no order) are three of my favorites:

Constellation (Godspeed, Do Make Say Think, Polmo Polpo) - these dudes are intense, with manifestos and such. and the music is really inovative.

Polyvinyl (Owen, Joan of Arc, Collection of Colonies of Bees) - just a great indie "rock" label. they are much more chill, but their releases are consistently great.

Dischord (Fugazi, Q and not U) - the DC "punk" thing is not really my deal, but regardless of how one feels about the music, their integrity is unmatched and commands respect. it is THE indie label.

Most of my favorite labels have been out business for years!
that goes for classic disco & r&b/funk labels like Casablanca, Prelude, West End, T.K. & Salsoul.

For more recent labels mainly dealing with house, I like most of the stuff coming out of Naked Music as well as Slip 'n Slide, King Street and the german Compost label.

For Jazz, many of the majors are putting out great stuff, but I highly recommend the swiss TCB label. Honorable mentions should also go to Concord records for keeping real straight ahead acoustic jazz alive & well.

I would list

SubPop
Palm Pictures
Merge
Matador
PopTones
Santuary/Castle (who have really been putting out good stuff in the US recently)
Not Lame (for power pop)
ATO, Anti and Nonesuch (these three set the bar for major-connected, artist friendly record labels)

I should add (after some thought)
Beggars Banquet
Rhino (for reissues)
New West (for alt-country)
Artemis

I should also add that there's not one label out there from which I would buy EVERY release. The ones I listed will have more good stuff than bad, on the whole, but I can't be sure that EVERYTHING on any label is good.

I really like, for example, some of the stuff on Polyvinyl (Owen, Saturday Looks Good, American Football) but there's other stuff I really don't care for...

It has to be EMI. Home of Radiohead and Coldplay to name but a few.
Warp - Aphex Twin, Autechre and Squarepusher
Star Trak - not so much for the artists, who include Snoop Dogg and Kelis but for the fact that the Neptunes produce most of the material.

I am big Ipecac whore. I also like Warp and Anticon and Def Jux. Used to really enjoy Wordsound and Relapse in my earlier days.

If anybody has about $5K they'd like to send my way, I'd be happy to burn copies of this treasure trove.

A collector is auctioning off an complete (save for one single) Sub Pop Singles Club collection. The Singles Club delivered subscribers one 7" single per month including rarities from Nirvana, White Stripes, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, the Afghan Whigs, and many more.

Boing Boing describes this as an audio encyclopedia of 1990s underground rock and that's not far from the mark.

Now Playing: "The Miles Till Home" The Elected Me First (Sub Pop) <-- ironic, no?

About labels, I always found that label-change Sonic Youth story very curious:

they swapped to Geffen and nonetheless have maintained their trademark, no-compromise stance as far as sound is concerned.

Do you know of any other such obvious case ?

Ya, I'd say that most of my stuff comes from a few of those labels too. You might want to add these too:

BeatKamp
Gridrecords
Mushroom
Nettwerk

I am not sure if you have herd of them. Hats off to you if you have. Smiler
