Actually, Carl Wilson sung the lead vocals on that beautiful song.

Yeah, when Pitchfork did their best songs of the 60s, the author of for "God Only Knows" cited Brian Wilson, not Carl, as the lead vocalist. It was quickly changed, but we had a laugh about it anyway.

The Cardigans- "I Need Some Fine Wine and You, You Need to be Nicer" (hope that's the correct title)

And she's chosen to believe in the hymns her mother sings
Sunday pulls its children from the piles of fallen leaves"

Mother remember the night that the dog had her pups in the pantry?
Blood on the floor, fleas on their paws,
And you cried 'til the morning

...and there goes the integrity of the game.

I'm a little bit confused though. If you were gonna cheat, why would you fess up to it?

If anyone could tell me what this Butthole Surfers song is, I'd be forever in your debt. I have no idea what it is, but I love it. I have a copy on an old mix tape someone gave me, but there's no inlay.

The song has spitting at the beginning of each verse - 'Hoch PTOOEE!' (instead of the traditional 1-2-3-4 count in). The slide guitars are horribly out of tune (on purpose). Here's the few lyrics I can actually understand -

'...what the hell you say?
walk among those roly polys each and every day'

There are also some words that sound like -

'Bud - bring me my wagon'

The song is hilarious. Does ANYONE know what it's called?

I don't necessarily blame him this time. I was about to go ahead and add a new lyric since joji kinda disappeared. It's been a few days since he posted.

Sorry Duncan, I'm not familiar with all of the Surfers' work.

I'm pretty sure that's "Lady Sniff" from Psychic, Powerless . . . Another Man's Sac

Ah, I see. Yeah, that kind of makes sense, although I would suggest giving a warning that you're going to move on... but whatever. I more was just giving Hophead a hard time than actually caring.

I thought for a second about pretending I knew it, but that seemed stupid, so I fessed up. And yep, joji's old lyric was a couple of days old so I figured lets move on.

It is. Your post had me waxing nostalgic for some classic Surfers, so I listened to that album yesterday. Still a great record.

I think you quoted the wrong post there, but I get the point. Thanks again - I have been searching for the answer to that question for about 3 months now.

I shall have to hunt down the album. I already have Independent worm saloon, Hairway to Steven and Pigouhd (I think that's how you spell it).

I got into them through Gibby's vocals on 'Jesus built my Hotrod' by Ministry (my favourite song of all time).

Can you give us a hint, Hophead? It's been awhile since the thread has seen any action.
