Just thought I'd bump this thread since I always liked it, and I'd hate to see it go away. mark, give us a hint!

I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor I was back to pondering my mortality.

I think it's "Stallion" by Sunset Rubdown. If that's right, here is the next one:

"Can I get a minute of not being nervous and not thinking of my dick"

Man, is that really what he says in that song? I always thought he was saying "and not think about my day".

Anyway, that's "Slow Show" by The National.

Here's another.

Drive to the forest in a japanese car. The smell of rubber on concrete tar.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that's what he says. I just happened to hear Boxer and Random Spirit Lover this past Sunday as a few my choices for music when I was barbecuing. Cool

And oh yeah, I don't know your song but thanks for the hint. I am sure this song is as annoying as the one you posted. Big Grin

Hint: this song in on this 1979 album that was originally released on three 12" records, even though it's not a triple album (or even a double really, at 60:29)

Man, no wonder this thread has tendency to die. I forgot about it already!

The three LPs for this album originally came in a tin, circular film container.

It's a song by P.I.L. isn't it? Poptones, maybe?
If I'm right I'll post the next question later..

Ok, I went and listened to it, and since I was right, here is the next one. An easy one (and one of the most beautiful songs ever written IMO) :

I tune into some friendly voices talking 'bout stupid things

I think that's "And Dream of Sheep" by Kate Bush. Great choice by the way Dimsi, although "And Dream of Sheep" was never my favorite from Hounds of Love. It's a great song, but my favorite was always "Cloudbusting".

Oranges and lemons / Raincoats roar and tumble / Together - It's like fruit tipped from a tray

Well, I am just happy you liked my choice. Any song on that album is among my favourite 100 songs I think, so I could never argue against Cloudbusting either.
I'm a bit embarrased, though, as I don't know which song you posted lyrics from. I'm obviously not so good at remembering lyrics. Could you give us a hint? Smiler

I have tapped into my vast musical knowledge and gleaned the title of the song, though I won't say what it is because I named my vast musical knowledge "Google".

Used to be sixteen lanes.
Used to be Nuevo Spain.
Used to be Juan Wayne.
Used to be Mexico.
Used to be Navajo.
Used to be yippy yay I don't know.
