You guys are hilarious. It says a lot for American education if you think I'm using language that is over-reaching or unnecessary. I'm just writing the way I speak, the way I speak at home in Australia where we still value intelligence.

I mean really, what is this anti-intellectual streak coming into m/c?

And just for the record, I read Android's post twice. We owe it to each other to improve one another or otherwise we will all become one celled amoeba who think 'douche baggery' actually means anything.

Some people are smarter than others. Put me up against Groucho Marx and I'll lose every time. Wink

oh, oh, oh...wait, wait, wait...I just realised that last line about being discovered was a dig! Oh god mate, if you think I'm here on m/c for anything other than a lively debate, then you're waaaaaaay off track.

Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been,
Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene;
As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be,
So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

Kult, going back and reading my post I apologize for singling you out for something that has been pissing me off in a wider sense (you still sounded like a jerk), it is the first time in my short time here that I can recall you making a comment that I found unnecessarily elitist. But I'm also not really keeping score on that either.

I wouldn't call making broad generalizations on the intelligence level of an entire nation based on a few peoples' comments on a message board as something a person of high intellect would choose to do.

Everything we discuss on here is completely arbitrary, so why do some members on here feel as though they have the facts, and are blessing the rest of us idiots by sharing them.

As for Australian vs American education...I do not know much of Australia's education system. I will say that the public education I received was not top notch.

Do Australians really use the word inculculation on a regular basis? Regardless of what you say, I find it hard to believe that they do.

That is a little dramatic. 'Douche baggery' definitely means something, it is just that the people it is applied to do not understand the meaning, otherwise they would avoid such behavior that earns the moniker.

That "dig" wasn't directed towards you, but it was toward some others....sorry, again.

I think I may have ripped this off of Kurt Vonnegut. Sorry to you most of all, Kurt!

Alright!!! I have been textually analysed. Big Grin
I feel so thrilled, fired up, psyched....damn...I can't think of any big words.... Wink

Mate, I just don't have the energy to rebut. This debate would go on for pages if I really got stuck in ha ha, so I'm bowing out to go turn nouns into verbs....(if you get that reference, I'll love you unconditionally).

Don't be a wanker Dork. Just cause you say it's so, don't make it so.

Actually, not fully understanding what a troll is in net speak, I've just looked up the definition on a dictionary, and it most certainly doesn't describe my intentions.
So, I repeat, call me what you want; doesn't make it so.

You make bold, rude, unfounded statements over and over yet you refuse to back them up and run off like a dickless wimp whenever you are challenged.

Troll.

Wow, faceless insults and assumptions. How courageous. Did it ever occur to you to ask someone's reasoning before you make assumptions? Perhaps, perhaps not, but you don't show evidence of anything but assumptions.

The mote in your eye son, the mote in your eye.

'Unfounded' -assumption. 'Refuse to back them up'- assumption. 'Run off'- assumption.

Long as you're throwing pre-judgements, nothing will get solved.

What the fuck are you blabbering on about, troll?

I've been watching your damn behavior for months. It is infuriating. It is all of the above. I could list several examples of you being a complete jerk and then scurrying off whilst you are thoroughly out-argued; this thread is merely the latest.

Big Grin I vote Dork is better than the Beatles. He certainly makes me laugh out loud more often.

Dork can't hold a candle to Radiohead. They are far more sour-faced than him.

Apologies to you mymind, if I said anything that came across like I was attacking you. I try to play the ball, not the man...

I blame the Beatles 100% for all this unrest.

Nothing to apologize for, just a squabble, but accepted anyway. Honestly sometimes I get too uptight for my own good. It must have been Helter Skelter.

i vote the beatles. radiohead may or may not be more diverse sonically, but the beatles are much more diverse emotionally. as much as i love radiohead (they're my second favorite band, can you guess the first?), i can get tired of them quicker and they just don't fit my mood sometimes.

Radiohead would obviously win.

There's 5 of them and only 2 Beatles.

Serves them right. Paul and Ringo should be in a home at their age, not picking fights with progressive rock bands.

How about U2 vs. Radiohead. This douche says Radiohead pretends to be them. Gimme a break.
