As I am finalizing my best of 2007 lists, everything just sounds drastically better on my headphones. I haven’t played anything on regular speakers—other than in my car—since I got them. One album that really stood out was Person Pitch. I can hear every detail, every sound effect he used and I can actually understand what he is saying. I also really like the way Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, The Flying Club Cup and Strawberry Jam sound on these suckers—they are truly transformed. They were already monster albums before the headphones but now I am just in awe.

Also, my hip-hop albums sound surprisingly amazing. Small nuances and minimal intricacies really stand out and that’s only with I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead and Graduation so far.

Overall, I am in love with these headphones; I hadn’t had a working pair—let alone a decent one—in such a long time, it’s a great way to listen to your favorite music. I can’t wait until I bust out my jazz and classical collections on these headphones.

Cool, I'll check those albums out on the headphones.

And speaking of classical, I just listened to a couple of film score CDs on the headphones, and they sound phenomenal. I'm more of a rock guy, but I may have to get into classical stuff just to hear them through headphones. Musical nirvana.

What about wireless headphones? I bought a pair a few years ago, and was sorely disappointed...spent about $150. Anything good out now?

hi-o. i'm asking for some headphones for christmas, but know almost nothing about them. alls i know is that i want good sound quality. i'm trying not to go over $150ish, and this Grado SR-60 series musicfanatic mentioned earlier in this thread is looking attractive at $70. anyone have any other suggestions?

hello. i use beyerdynamic headphones, dtx700 model, which is similar to the dt 700 pro model FKA posted about on the previous page, but not as good. excellent sound quality, very good bass like pretty much all the beyerdynamic headphones. they're circumaural, which means the pads sit around the ears. most people think this is the most comfortable type, and i definitely agree, I use them for hours on end with no discomfort. i find that ones that sit on top of your ears get annoying after a short while, but maybe i have piss weak ears or something.

anyway i don't know much about the Grado series, but the beyerdynamic dtx700 is within your price range i think, and i find 'em great.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend beyerdynamic headphones to anyone that needs new ones. Almost a year later since I got mine and they still sound spectacular and are in great shape. Like thefanste stated, they cover your ears and I agree that they are super comfortable.
