Like eric said, it's total 2PacSploitation. It's very likely that he wouldn't have been interested in working with the artists involved in some of the posthumous releases, were he alive.
Biggie's two albums when he was alive were called "Ready to Die" and "Life after Death." Weird. There's this one remix song where they take some Biggie recordings and some Tupac recordings and put them in the same song so it sounds like they're collaborating on it.
Three that I regret the most: Kurt Cobain Jimi Hendrix Bob Marley
Here's some more: Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) Brad Nowell (Sublime) Guy who sang "La Bamba" Several Ramones Proof from D12
I can't believe nobody has mentioned the losses of Gerald Levert & Barry White! I've listened to Gerald since he was apart of 'Levert' in the 80's. "Casanova" is one of my favorite songs that he did in that time & when he went solo I just can't choose one! "Point the Finger", "Made to Love You", "Can't Help Myself", the list can go on & on! Barry White has been a favorite for a long time! From "My First, My Last, My Everything" to "Practice What You Preach", I've loved his low vocals coming through my speakers! They are missed.... at least by this fan.
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"
Did I look over Nick Drake? Or has noone said him yet?
Note: I guess I feel that he died to young, but I really wish that he might have had a little more critical acclaim so that he might not have gone so crazy.

Well, actually, I kinda take that back. Idk if K-fed was really ever alive to me. I guess he was just another... well, just another person that I'd rather pay someone to NOT have to hang out with or hear.

I agree. In terms of artistry and his acoustic guitar playing, Nick Drake had few equals. As Nick's producer Joe Boyd remarked in an interview, "He had unbelievably strong fingers . . . . the minute they got around a guitar, they were absolutely in control. Clear and clean and strong. And I think that's one of the secrets of the records. There was a spine, an absolutely clear and strong spine, of his own guitar-playing, which allowed everything else to exist."
Kurt Cobain. Elliott Smith. Peter Laughner. Sterling Morrisson. Otis Redding. Robert "Benjamin" Dickerson. Mark Moore. Ian Curtis. Robert Johnson. Tupac Shakur.
It would nice to be able to name a woman on such a list but all of the female musicians that have really touched me are still alive thankgod.
There’s a dream that I see, I pray it can be Look 'cross the land, shake this land - "Maybe Not", C. Marshall

yes, I agree that Sid needed soooo much love, but I wonder if he could have handled it. Nancy, wow what a wonder to stick by him, but what a sad and horrible demise for them. Musicians sure seem to take big hits.
john denver, you forgot john denver! does anyone have any good conspiracy theories/reasons about some of these deaths- not paul is dead crap- but like with elliot smith stabs himself while the girlfriend is there and the coroner report is a little ambigious. or jeff buckley's random swim in the river. or nick drake's overdose? or jimi hendrix's retarded mixture of alcohol and sleeping pills? were they suicidal? or were other things involved? i think most were suicidal, but some of the circumstances are so bizarre, you just wonder...
and don't forget jeff mangum, he is virtually dead as his music is no longer being shared with the world.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying that Nancy was good for Sid? By most accounts she pretty much enabled his rapid detereoration, not to mention that all of the members of the Pistols despised her. I'm not too sure that "wonder" is the most accurate term to describe Nancy.

she introduced Sid to heroin, I believe, and that drug was the fuel for their "love". Addictive behavior is such that Nancy could easily have gone off in search of a new fix, but she stuck by Sid (what an awful mess) and she paid for it with her life. Dunno if that makes sense. The whole thing was a big waste of humanity.
I guess I'll say DJ Screw just to prove my Houstonness. It was a big thing for a while to wear these "Free Pimp-C" shirts. Well, after he finally got free'd, I said they should start making "Necromance DJ Screw" shirts to see if those would be as effective.
Note: I probably haven't heard a single second of DJ Screw's music and I'm probably not missing much.
