Well, I just left the Pixies vs. Nirvana thread. It was hard for me not to unleash a tirade. I think I was pretty fair. That said, the big ones for me have always been the Pixies and Frank Black, (seriously, a Metascore of 48 for Fast Man Raider Man?!). However, I am definitely finding myself becoming a fanboy for the Mountain Goats. I've pretty much convinced myself that John Darnielle is only behind Dylan in terms of lyricists, and have recently found myself getting my hands on anything Goats-related that I can. I even found it hard to speak to my brother for at least a week after he told me that the MG compilation I burned for him wasn't "that good". I may have oversold it...

For me, it's Jason Molina, whether it's his solo album, his Songs: Ohia stuff, or his Magnolia Electric stuff, the man can do no wrong. There are going to be 3 or 4 full-length releases coming from him in the latter half of this year. That alone almost guarantees a great second half to 2006 for me. Also Radiohead.
