Hey PeEric -- what do you think of the Grant-Lee Phillips? Usually, covers albums don't work that well for me, but this one sounds pretty good. I've only listened to it twice so far, but most of it works well for me. I love the arrangement of Wave of Mutilation, and So. Central Rain also is great. But then, I love Phillips' wounded voice, so he could sing anything and it would sound good to me.

I was underwhelmed at first, but it's growing on me. The songs I like best are the ones I'm least fond of in their original form ("Age of Consent" and the Nick Cave song) but I think it's a grower. I'm wanting to hear it more than I did.

Hmm, I thought it was their best album since Perfect From Now On. Chalk it up to a matter of (bad) taste I guess.
We must have opposite taste. Tell me what you hate and I'll have a good list of favourite albums.
I loved Perfect From Now On though Keep It Like A Secret is my fave. The new one just has no energy and the guitars are...well, boring. I'll have to give it another try. I was really turned off on first listen.
