I bought the new A Perfect Circle cd "Emotive" but due to the lack of responses to my post pertaining to the band it has become apparent that nobody cares.

Quote from "Mike": I bought the new A Perfect Circle cd "Emotive" but due to the lack of responses to my post pertaining to the band it has become apparent that nobody cares.

(fetish replies): I love "Perfect Circle"....I have both "Mer De Noms" & "Thirteenth step"....(The track "Judith" from Mer De Noms, is easily my personal favourite track for their albums). But I thought I'd wait to see some reviews for "Emotive" before committing to buying it. And the reviews I've seen thus far haven't been as positive as the previous albums, is this criticism valid??

The main thing that the critics were against was that it was mostly an album of covers, save one original. I think that it is very good. Probably won't interest people unaware of the band but for people like you an me it is worth getting.

Owen - I do perceive

this album is practically flawless, on par with the s/t debut of 2001, but more polished and experienced. and his cousin nate makes his presence known with some cello action, which is great. but its the songs that get me...man i love mike kinsella.

After a listen and a half, I must agree with not me. After some interesting, if piecemeal, eps, Kinsella has done his best work since American Football.

U2: HTDAAB

It's a decent enough album, but there's nothing you've essentially never heard before. I mean, I guess "Vertigo" is good (I'm one of the few who never heard it before today) and about halfway through, there's a couple of acoustic songs which sound slightly-newish. There's nothing wrong with the album; it just seems a little bit on autopilot. I haven't even checked MC yet. What are they giving it? I'd guess a 69 +/- 5. Later, Gators.

"Big Lost" is the best instrumental hip-hop track since Blockhead's "Insomniac Olympics." Totally.
