Came in the mail:

Circulatory System - s/t
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - List Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven

I love it when critics are right, these are both very good. Circulatory System is one of the most intriguing albums I've ever heard.

I just went a little crazy buying CD's, and plan to continue in the next week or so...

Coldplay: Viva la Vida (selling in Starbucks the weekend before release date)
Cut Copy: In Ghost Colours (fun, if not very original)
The Cool Kids: The Bake Sale (awwwwwwwwwww, shoot)
My Morning Jacket: Evil Urges (Jim James and co. rip our faces off yet again)

Soon to be purchased: Sonic Youth's back catalog, Fleet Foxes, Shearwater, R.E.M.'s Accelerate, Death Cab's Narrow Stairs, The Last Shadow Puppets, and Sade's back catalog. I'll keep the music business alive single-handedly if I have to...

Finally got around to picking up:

The Mountain Goats - Heretic Pride

Probably not going to be buying much this year. Gas prices have cut into my music budget.

I've been on a debut splurge recently. From Ska to hip-hop...

The Cool Kids - The Bake Sale EP (really enjoyed it; a nice little throwback to the 80s)
Flobots - Fight With Tools (didn't care for it; I enjoyed Handlebars so I gave the album a try.. so unrecognizable in the world of underground hip hop)
No Doubt - No Doubt (It's alright.. perhaps danceable.. but forgettable)
Bob Dylan - Bob Dylan (had me laughing at parts because of his rambling on sentences. I enjoyed it though, probably more than most people did)
Princess Superstar - Last of the Great 20th Century Composers (Best album I picked up in a while.. Her lyricism is intriguing and sexual..)
Deee-Lite - World Clique (Great dance album. So-so album in terms of intelligence. But "Groove is in the Heart" will stay with you!)

I purchased a copy of Tv on the radio - return to cookie mountain since the downloaded disc was getting scratched. I love that album so much.

Also picked up another copy of [b]amnesiac[b] because my previous disc was scratched and I snapped it. I think 9.0 wa a fair score.

"Stay Positive" isn't out yet is it? I'm not trying to turn this into a debate about methods of acquiring music, but this topic is "Recent CD Purchases" and if the Hold Steady is out, I need to run to the record store.

Yesterday I took home The Devil, You + Me, Death, and All His Friends, At Mount Zoomer. Sounds like the formula for an awesome party actually.

I haven't gotten to rock listen through everything yet. The only one I've listened to all the way through is the new Notwist. And I was pleasantly surprised by it.

I think it's a great album. I wasn't sure after the first listen, but I've listened to it half a dozen times now and it's really grown on me. Great interpretations with a lot of originality and imagination. Especially their interpretation of Robert Wyatt's "Sea Song", which is breathtaking. If you usually like traditional female folk singers, I can't see you not liking it. Not really one for parties though. Very melancholic.

Picked up a couple recently:

My Morning Jacket - Evil Urges
Ghostface Killah - Fishscale
Talk Talk - Laughing Stock

I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor I was back to pondering my mortality.
