recently, due to a mixture of boredom and untapped creativity, i've started creating "mixtapes" on iTunes which have some sort of overarching theme to them. So, i thought it might be fun to start a thread where people can think up their own themed mixes and post them. And maybe i'll get a few new ideas for themes as well

Various ideas might be: songs with a certain word in the title, songs where the title is a question, songs with a boy's name in the title. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you could try to make a mixtape which shares a certain lyrical theme: songs about home etc.

here's a couple of my own creation:

"Dead Songs" (surprisingly enough, it contains a lot of punk/metal)
Mr Bungle - Everyone I Went To High School With Is Dead
Death From Above 1979 - Dead Womb
Evangelicals - Here In The Deadlights
Sufjan Stevens - They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back From The Dead!! Ahhhh!
Shape Of Broad Minds - It Aint Dead!!
Gravediggaz - Deadliest Biz
High On Fire - Death Is This Communion
Future Of The Left - adeadenemyalwayssmellsgood
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Dead As History
Do Make Say Think - The Landlord Is Dead
The Birthday Party - A Dead Song
Sonic Youth - Death To Our Friends
Hella - The Ungratefull Dead
The Tuss - Death Fuck
Dick Dale - Death Of A Gremmie

"The Spectrum" (see what i did here?)
Soft Machine - All White
Booka Shade - In White Rooms
Matthew Herbert - White Bread, Brown Bread
Big Star - Life Is White
Royal Trux - Yellow Kid
Ghost - Water Door Yellow Gate
Metro Area - Orange Alert
Sonic Youth - Orange Rolls, Angel's Spit
Squarepusher - Orient Orange
Faust - Title 5 (Duck A L'Orange)
Stevie Wonder - Golden Lady
Yeasayer - Red Cave
Tomahawk - Red Fox
Pierre Bastien - Tender Red Net
The Chills - Pink Frost
Boris - Pink
Prince - Purple Rain
The Gun Club - Desire By Blue River
Shape Of Broad Minds - Electric Blue
Roxy Music - Out Of The Blue
Robert Wyatt - Out Of The Blue
Curtis Mayfield - We The People Who Are Darker Than Blue
The Cramps - Green Door
Sonic Youth - Green Light
The Fall - Green Eyed Loco-Man
Madlib - The Forest (Greens)
John Maus - Green Bouzard
The Pogues - A Pair Of Brown Eyes
Bearman - Brown Bear Picnic
Slaughter Mob -Black Hole
Martini Bros - The Biggest Fan (Black Strobe Mix)
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Black Bubblegum
British Sea Power - Blackout
Burning Spear - Black Wa-Da-Da
Big L - All Black
Lil' Wayne (feat. Juelz Santana) - Black Republicans
Sufjan Stevens - They Also Mourn Who Do Not Wear Black (For The Homeless In Muskegon)
Bark Psychosis - The Black Meat

remember kids, sequencing is the most important part of any mixtape. And in case you were wondering: yes, i am very bored
