1. and 2. Animal Collective - My Girls and Summertime Clothes

I have to admit I didn't really like the Strawberry Jam CD as much as everyone else did but I love their new CD. I've had it playing in the car for about two weeks and every few minutes I glance down to see what track is playing because I'm enjoying it so much and it always seems to be a different song everytime. These two are the standouts for me right now.

3. Lily Allen - The Fear

I'm sure it's not the most popular choice on this message board but I love this track. The line about "But it doesn't matter cause I'm packing plastic/and that's why my life is so effing fantastic" keeps running through my head.

4. The Knife - Silent Shout

I just bought an iPod docking station for my desk at work and finally got around to buying this CD at basically the same time. I keep on gravitating back to this track every couple of days.

5. Klaxons - Golden Skans

Heard it on the radio yesterday for the first time in probably a year. Played it a few times today, forgot how good it was.

1. "The Party is crashing us" - of Montreal
I Must admit, I am just getting into this band and I find this song to be pretty phenomenal. Catchy beats, fun lyrics, and repeatably playable. What's not to love?

2. " There she goes my beautiful world" - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
So energetic and fun, especially with the back up "choir" of sorts. I've been really into Abattoir Blues/ The Lyre of Orpheus lately. Mainly because it's awesome.

3."There Goes the Fear" - Doves
Do I really need to say anything about this one?

4. Neighborhood #3 (Power out) - Arcade fire
Yeah, do it, make fun of me cause I'm not all cool and up to date I dare you. =P

5. "Bird Feet Feelings" Trailer Bride
Because it's just so heartfelt. The other night when I was feeling blue I played it about 5 times in a row just because that song was the way I felt. Maybe not the lyrics but the emotions.

1. Daylight by Matt and Kim - About as catchy a tune as I have ever heard

2. My Night with the Prostitute from Marseille by Beirut - Never been a Beirut fan but these electronic tracks make me want to check out his Realpeople work.

3. Snookered by Dan Deacon - Rips my face off everytime. His best track ever.

4. I'm on a Boat by The Lonely Island - Hilarious and a genuinely catchy song

5. Airport Surroundings by Loney, Dear - Gets a little repetative as the song goes on but the first couple of minutes are really fantastic.

Also, Bones and Skin by Mirah is great as is Ursuline by Malajube.

1) "Quality Time" - Barbara Morgenstern. This is like my favorite song ALL THE TIME. Considering how often I play it, I can't believe I haven't tired of it at all. Maybe the fact that it's in German and I don't understand it that has something to do with it... Anyhow, it's super Kraftwerky and really catchy, but it's those two organ chords in the background that make me want to melt. God, I love this song.

2) "Let's Get Sick" - MU. So incredibly badass.

3) "Snookered" - Dan Deacon. The chopped-up vocals near the end are fantastic. The coolest thing I've heard from 2009.

4) "One Beat" - Sleater-Kinney. Best. S-K. Song. Ever.

5) "Steiner Im Flug" - Pantha Du Prince. For that late walk home from work, it's all I ever want to listen to. Well, except for the last Burial record...

In no particular order:

Isaac Hayes "Never Can Say Goodbye"
The Pains of Being Pure At Heart "This Love Is Fucking Right"
Otis Gibbs "Preacher Steve"
Ben Kweller "Wantin' Her Again"
Steppenwolf "Caroline (Are You Ready for the Outlaw World)" *

* This song is part of my recent fascination about songs with the name Caroline in the title. Guess I'm going to have to make a "Caroline Mix-tape" soon.

Nice list.

I don't much care for "Pick up the Phone Though" and I think "Squalor Victoria" is low on my list of Boxer songs (but still high on my list otherwise.)

I'll point out for sake of randomness though that "Squalor Victoria" is a great opening track for any National mixtape.

elliott smith - king's crossing

After finally listening to From a Basement, been obsessed with this song the past week. Total mindblower.
