Question:
What is the best song with the name of an alcoholic drink in the title?

And I'm trying to include a variety of genres/eras, so please point out ones that I am forgetting.

Choices:
Tequila Sunrise by the Eagles
Gin and Juice by Snoop Dogg
Red Red Wine by Neil Diamond (any version)
Love is like a Bottle of Gin by the Magnetic Fields
Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet

Gordon Lightfoot - "Blackberry Wine"
Evan Dando - "In the Grass All Wine Colored"

Also, I voted for "Margaritaville."

Well, IMHO, and I'm pretty sure m.leland will agree with me, the absolute best song with an alcoholic drink in the title is Tom Waits' "Jockey Full of Bourbon". It blows away the others on your list, although I will give props to Neil Diamond and Snoop Dogg.

Some other good ones:

"Red Red Wine" - The Replacements. No relation to the Neil Diamond/UB40 song.

"All The Wine" - The National

"Lilac Wine" - Jeff Buckley

"Cold Gin" - Kiss.

"Whiskey in the Jar" - Traditional/Thin Lizzy

"Alabama Whiskey Song" - The Doors

The Triple Threat:
"One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" - John Lee Hooker/George Thorogood

EDIT: And I almost forgot, Eric Burdon & War's "Spill the Wine".

From your choices, I'll take the Eagles.

Some other options:

"Jack vs. Jose" Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. It's a debate between Jack Daniels and Jose Cuervo, by the way.

"Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down" Merle Haggard (and Elvis Costello, Flying Burrito Bros, etc)

"Whiskey River" Willie Nelson (among many)

Another one:

Guns N' Roses' ode to cheap wine, "Nighttrain".

I also like "A Goodbye Rye" by Richard Buckner, although I think I'm the only Buckner fan around here.

"John Barleycorn Must Die" by dozens of artists, including Traffic, Jethro Tull and Frank Black. "John Barleycorn Must Live" by Young Fresh Fellows. Cool

I can't believe Snoop's getting no love on Pax's poll. Is no one here "laid back, with their mind on their money and their money on their mind"?
