I wanted to know some songs by great artists that people thought were underrated. They don't have to be really random songs, just songs that you think our underrated among the great artist's catalogue.
1. Queen Jane Approximately-Bob Dylan. When people mention Highway 61, you always hear about Like A Rolling Stone, Ballad of a Thin Man, and Desolation Row; yet this song remains in my top 5 or 10 Dylan songs ever, despite it not often mentioned among his best. 2. Wots...Uh the Deal- Pink Floyd. This is a slow song off Obscured by Clouds that laments getting older. One of my favorite early Floyd songs, but again one that gets very little play. 3. The Rover- Led Zeppelin Overshadowed by the greatness that is Physical Graffitti, The Rover has one of Zeppelin's best guitar riffs ever.

There can be no denyin' That the wind'll shake'em down And the flat world's flyin' There's a new plague on the land
If we could just join hands, If we could just join hands, If we could just join hands...
When that part kicks in, it's as magnificent as anything Zep ever made.
I always thought "Baby Be Mine" was thought too little of in a lot of ways. It's only one of two tracks from Thriller not to be released as a single and it's probably my favorite Michael Jackson song. And checking last.fm real quick reveals it to not be especially listened to compared to a lot of the singles that are weaker songs IMO.
A forgotten Van Morrison song always comes to mind first- "Linden Arden Stole the Highlights". Gorgeous and eerie, it's only on Veedon Fleece and none of Van's many compilations.
I discovered 'Absolution' while living in a critic vacumm, living in Ukraine without internet access. I was very surprised to discover later on that this wasn't everyones favorite song on the album.

I guess any song is bound to get overlooked when its on the same disc as "Life On Mars?", "Oh! You Pretty Things", and "Queen Bitch".
The Bends - Radiohead
The explosive solo in this song is fucking amazing.
Monkey Man - The Rolling Stones
Maybe the most frantic Stones song ever, it gets overlooked too often by the more well know masterpieces on Let It Bleed.
Providence - Sonic Youth
OK, so its more of an interlude than a song, but I can't be the only one who got tingles down their spine when that gentle piano kicks in behind Mike Watts voice.
Interesting topic. I'm not sure I know what is overlooked, but I will post some that I don't hear too much about. Sorry if they aren't overlooked (or considered great artists).
Beck - New Round, Rental Car, Lazy Flies Belle & Sebastian - Lord Anthony Blur - You're So Great Built to Spill - The Weather Cake - Commisioning a Symphony In C Modest Mouse - Baby Blue Sedan, Head South Pavement - Billie, Kennel District The White Stripes - Forever For Her (Is Over For Me), Offend In Every Way Wilco - Pick Up the Change Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fancy
Shad, I agree with pretty much all of your picks, which is going to make it hard for me to pick some of my own.
Beatles - I've Just Seen A Face. Well-liked enough, I suppose, but never a big hit though it deserved to be. One of my favorite of Paul's, the chorus is so simple but so good.
Decemberists - The Bachelor and the Bride. Never mentioned as anyone's favorite, but something about the imagery really affects me. The chord progression is interesting, too.
The Kinks - Apeman. This album (Lola vs. Powerman and the Money-Go-Round) finally got some love thanks to Wes Anderson, but this song is strangely unloved. It is awesome.
------ Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.
The Okkervil River thread reminded me of another one.
Okkervil River - Another Radio Song. This is the point where I fell in love with the band and bought everything they made. I still think it is perhaps the best song they have recorded.
I like your Decemberists pick Chamberk. I love how they write stories that resonate so well emotionally with the listener. My wife and I have a strong connection with "Eli the Barrow Boy" for some reason.
