In the car??? 30 years ago??? Must've been an 8-track. LOL

Actually it was on AM Radio.

NLT- "Emergency Exit" by Beck

I have to list at least three since I've been listening to music since I got home this afternoon.

1) TSOOL "Mantra Slider/Permanent Vacation"
2) Jimi Hendrix Experience "All Along the Watchtower"
3) Undertones "Teenage Kicks"

When I told my daughter Sarah and wife Brenda that Pitchfork, Rolling Stone (they previously LOVED TSOOL) and Spin all said that TSOOL sucked, Sarah said, "They're INSANE!!!" and Brenda said, "They're FULL of SHIT!!!"

Apparently, if you ape late 70s/early 80s, you get thumbs up. If you ape/transpose/beatify 60s, you're outta touch/outta mind/suckadelic.

I've lived through all the "so-called" ages and knew what I was doing and listening too, but remember, I'm an "old coot."

Haha. Don't take this too harshly, but you must have the most amusing family ever.

Just heard that Decemberists single, "Sixteen Military Wives", on some music video show. Good song. The video is rather dumb, though.

Just listened to the recent re-issues of the classic Krautrock albums "Musik von Harmonia" and "Deluxe" by Harmonia. I'd been waiting for these to be re-released on CD for ages. They are both wonderful. Also recommended is the re-issue of Cluster's "Zuckerzeit"!!!

"The Best of the Shoes" -- The Shoes. Fabulous little power pop nuggets.

"Blondie" -- Ada (one of the best electronic albums of 2004).

"Breaking God's Heart" -- Hefner. Simply one of the best British pop bands of the past ten years, and practically no one listens to them.

Ornette Coleman - 'Eventually' from the album 'The Shape of Jazz to Come.' I've got it on in my class, and I think some students are starting to plot my death. This isn't going over well at all.

Arthurs18: How is The Bboks' new album?

I LOVED "The Lemon of Pink", but I decided not to buy the new one after reading Pitchfork's generally disappointed review.

Right now listening to: "Beauty and the Beat" -- Edan

Does Edan realize that this was the name of the debut album by The Go-Go's ???

I'm listening to....clips from the Raveonettes website from their new album. It sounds...really interesting. More interesting than most of these random songs I hear from obscure bands I've never herad of.

"Waiting for the Siren's Call" -- New Order. I am a diehard NO fan, so maybe I am not objective, but I love this album -- tracks 3-7 are a fabulous run. To my ear, this is their most consistent set of songs since "Technique".

"Satanic Panic in the Attic" -- Of Montreal. Sometimes glorious, sometimes f***ing irritating. I find it hard to listen all the way through in one session.

"Fed" -- Plush. I liked the sequel, "Underfed", which was "Fed" stripped down on a lower budget. The Japanese-import-only "Fed" is ruinously expensive, but I love hearing the highly produced version of these songs and comparing them to "Underfed".
