Gorgeous bare bones folk record.
I've been meaning to listen to that one. I like To Be Still quite a lot.
Whoops, meant to only reply to your post, instead I hit edit. Yeah, I'm in total agreement about To Be Still. It's never left my top ten of the year. I'd never heard of Alina Hardin til this EP was released and am still not sure of her background. The EP is very nice, a mix of new stuff and some traditional folk re-adapted by the duo.

I was listening to The Sunset Tree this last week, and this is about the only song I really don't much like on that great album. The other one is "Pale Green Things," which has a chorus that is hackneyed, especially for Darnielle, and an uninspiring melody. "Song for Dennis Brown" is, to me, mediocre in similar ways.

A hushed, somewhat dark folk album from 2006. I heard a couple tracks from their upcoming 2009 album and was impressed. These songs don't sound as good as the new ones so far.

Sunset Rubdown: "You Go On Ahead (Trumpet Trumpet II)"
I've had phases of liking and (more often) phases of not liking Sunset Rubdown (and all of Spencer Krug's projects). I was mostly disinterested when Dragonslayer came out but, man, it's so loved by 'you guys' I think I owe it to myself to listen without prejudice.

Aside from the first Wolf Parade album, I've been mostly disinterested in Krug's projects too. However, I love Dragonslayer.
