Tim Grimm - Holding Up the World

Very solid folk album. It's got a great anti-war song called "This Hole."

Watched the video for this last night on my friend's Chris Cunningham DVD. Great video.

Much better than "Windowlicker." Eeker

Anthony Da Costa & Abbie Gardner - Bad Nights Better Days

This Da Costa dude is amazing. Just 17 years old and he's making some of the best folk music I've heard all year. This album is great, but his solo release, Typical American Tragedy, is ever better. I posted a bit about him in the folk/Americana forum.

"Leave It This Way" by Hacienda. Excellent album from a Mexican-American group, produced by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. Killer harmonies a la the Beach Boys (whose influence dominates) and Beatles. They're touring soon with Dr.Dog (who are also on the album)- I'd love to see that show.
