Damien Jurado - "Coats of Ice"

Surprised how much I like this album, since I was not a huge fan of his earlier work. Good alt. country sound. Maybe not a home run (like the new Elliott Brood) but a very solid track on a very solid album.

"Community Service Announcement" by Kylie Auldist of the Australian soul/funk band, the Bamboos. This is her debut solo album and a very nice one. Really soulful in a Northern Soul way as well as reminding me of mid-tempo Maxine Nightingale stuff . The funk tracks are still my favorites but I just love her vocals.

"Unintended Consequences" by Johnny Dowd. Avant-garde country/jazz Frank Zappa meets Johnny Cash thing, with sometimes smooth vocals from Kim Sherwood-Caso or matched with Dowd's odd talk-sing thing.
