Guillemots - "Kriss Kross"

One of the few shining gems off a disappointing sophomore album.

"Saint Simon" by The Shins.

Catchy song from a catchy album by a catchy artist.

"Pulse" by Ani DiFranco

Mix a little folly with your plans: It is sweet to be silly at the right moment.

"The E Ticket" by Syclops. Electronic/expieremental jazz stuff with a lotta funky synths happening. Really enjoying this album.

"Hipguard" by Acid. Wild 1972 instrumental from an obscure Australian trio that showed up on the latest In-Kraut sampler.

Tremulant Tympanum ~ Vaznis

Dense post rock guitar work, sampled spoken word pieces, occasional electronic beats, all coated in thick barriers of reverb.

I really like it.

The Heavens ~ The Heavens

Bite-sized EP from Ambulance Ltd.-ish indie rockers. Some shoegazey influences and strong pop, though it's mild and mildly forgettable.

Link is free and legal for those who are interested. I think some MCers might enjoy this.

Grails - Back to the monastery. Sadly, most of the songs on Black Tar Prophecies are not as much creepy and dark than this one.

Strugglers - The Latest Rights

Very nice, mostly laid-back alt-country record. The singer has a very nice, slightly deep, ever-so-slightly rough voice.

Is there any other kind of track from that album? Cool

Kozelek has become one of the most consistently great songwriters out there since changing his moniker to Sun Kil Moon.
