Yeah, I like that better anyway.

Numinosum ~ Ascension Of The Watchers

Gothy, dark pulsing ambient/industrial diddles with a little less melody than I generally prefer. Nicely atmospheric though.

"Same as it Never Was" by The Herbaliser

Mix a little folly with your plans: It is sweet to be silly at the right moment.

Just finished Subtle's The Exiting Arm. It kind of just washed over me but there were interesting moments. Hopefully it grows on me.

Now streaming Dosh's latest, Wolves and Wishes.

Sigur Ros - Popplagið.

The build up of this song kinda scares me sometimes.

Laulu Laakson Kukista ~ Paavoharju

*pats self on back*

Finnish artsy folktronica? Something. Strange, sounds sort of traditional but with modern production and ambient interludes.

I never really got The Hold Steady.

Are they trying to revive old rock n' roll or start something new?

I couldn't be more sad for you. They are one of the most clever, musically talented groups around.

Murder Ballads ~ Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds

Dark, violent, passionate, absorbing storytelling with intense, slowly building instrumentation backing it up. Loving it.

Breathe Owl Breathe - "Drop and Roll"

Off their latest EP. Beautiful, melodic folk music. Everybody should be talking about these guys.

I was never that crazy about their last album, but maybe I'll have to give the new Breathe Owl Breathe EO a shot.

Listening to a stream of the latest release from the excellent Yer Bird record label, by a band named Blackbird Harmony. It sounds excellent so far. Alt-country, folkish type stuff with some delicious pedal steel. It's streaming here: http://yerbird.com/blackbird/index.html
