Ugh, I couldn't tough it out through this one. Actually I had to take it off in the middle of track two, and I like prog in general! I'm still scared to try listening to it again. I have a lot of patience, but The Mars Volta seems to burn through it pretty quickly.
Haha, yeah it isn't amazing and definitely not as spectacular as Frances the Mute, but I do like it. Especially "Asilos Magdalena," which just happens to be such a beautiful song. Give it another shot Dork, I don't think it is that bad.

Heh. Erm, I barely made it over the finish line for Frances The Mute, but if I have a spare decade I suppose I could try to fit Amputechture in. Razzer

The Wrong Way - TV on the Radio

Other than the tune "Staring at the Sun" I haven't heard anything of theirs other than Cookie Mountain, so I picked up Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes. Giving it my first listen right now.

Desperate Youth is a much better album. Hope you enjoy it!

I really like it a lot. "Ambulance" is awesome. "Poppy" and "Dreams" also stand out.

"Ambulance" sounds more like TV On The Radio's first album, OK Calculator, than anything else they've ver done. (I dislike it myself.) That's probably worth checking out but I have sincere doubts that you'll like much of it -- it's very, very bad in my opinion.

However, I do have to plug their first EP, Young Liars, which is even better than Desperate Youth (by a wide margin) and almost beats Return To Cookie Mountain as well.

'Fight the Power'- Public Enemy. Not my usual listening pleasure, but sometimes you need a good dose of rap.

Watching American Idol. They said coming up after the break, so-and-so would be back singing the Zombies! I got excited and hoped to hear "Care of Cell 44", but unfortunately no. He did do a pretty good version of "Time of the Season" though.

My head woulda exploded had I read some Idol contestant was doing Care of Cell 44!!!!

Desert Island Disc for me...but Im listening to Burial right now....

Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been,
Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene;
As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be,
So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

I'm a closet American Idol watcher. Oddly enough, there was not one, but two Zombies covers on the show tonight -- "Time of the Season" and "She's Not There".
