The articles are usually a little fluffy, but the span of artists and topics is good. I never listen to the free comp discs, though. I don't know why...
Yeah I know what you mean about the fluffiness of the articles but the comp disc needs a listen. It has turned me on to so many different artists like "Earlimart" and especially Neko Case!!!
I'm in the minority who doesn't like Neko (if you like her, E, check out her side band The New Pornographers) but that Earlimart record is one that I've gotten recently and really enjoy...

Oh I LOVE The New Pornographers. When my Dad put "The End of the Medicine" into the play "Proof" I nearly went crazy (until I realized it screwed with the existing tone of the production and then I criticized him for it). Now I know there is an artist by the name of Peter Case. Does this have any relation to Neko and The New Pornographers???

I don't know of a Paul Case, but there's a Peter Case, who was the singer of the power pop forefathers The Nerves and the Plimsouls and is not a more folky artist than he ever was. I'm not a huge Pete Case fan...but I think LT is...
Not the Simon and garfunkel song, but ACTUAL silence. I'm in the Wash U library and it's a ghost town...all the college kids are home for the holidays.
I should have brought tunes and headphones...this much quiet is distracting...
I've been listening to oldies all day, time for some new stuff. I'm currently listening to Tool's "The Grudge" off their cd Lateralus. But after I get through this cd I am putting in Rob Zombie "From Past to Present" it is a "Greatest Hits" cd, but it has all of my favorites.
EDIT: I was wrong about the title of the cd, it is called "Past, Present, and Future."

That's just a damned good album. It came during the last days of "popular" metal/hard rock and during the heyday of grunge, and every damned song on that album has such punch and drive. I love the cheesy b-horror movie references.
I was listening to the actual song, I have it on the greatest hits thing that Zombie released, "Past, Present, and Future" it isn't bad it has "Thunder Kiss," "Black Sunshine," "Superbeast," and a couple other good ones. The only bad thing about it is that the last couple songs seem to be filler with his version of "Brick House." I don't actually have the cd, but it is on my "To-do" list.
