"Jesus was a Capricorn" by Marshall Chapman from The Pilgrim- A Celebration of Kris Kristofferson. Fairly good cover song on a hit and miss tribute comp. But it's hard to beat the real thing where Kristofferson and his songs are concerned.

Sleater- Kinney's "The Woods" which was one of the greatest albums of 2005 considering that Sleater-Kinney are my favorite all girl group also I feel horrible about the indefinite hiatus. They still kick ass!!!

Odelay by Beck (Devil's Haircut, more specifically - I just started it)

Talking Heads- Fear of Music: My favorite next to Remain in Light. Still one of the greatest records ever made.

Six Organs of Admittance- The Sun Awakens: One of the more underrated albums of '06 but it's still great.

"Risingson" - Massive Attack. Shit, I hope they reunite and do something good again.

"Summersong" by the Decemberists

Roaring Twenties - Various Artists (Flapper label, 2000). Fantastic sound quality.

"Lorianne" by McGuffey Lane from the two-fer Let the Hard Times Roll/Day By Day cd. Melodic country pop, like watered down Amazing Rhythm Aces but I like it.

Nouvelle Vague's cover of the Dead Kennedy's classic "Too Druck to Fuck". Great all-covers album re-done bossa nova style.

Will Johnson - Vultures Await

I'm still not crazy about it, but this is sounding better than it did the first couple times I listened to it.

Haven't been able to turn this one off lately.

"Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse from Black Holes and Revelations.

Lambchop- No You, C'mon: Personally, I prefer Aw C'mon but this is just as good...

"Videotape" by Radiohead.
This is at least as good as Pyramid Song.

"Dangerous Minds" by Woodcat from their s/t album. Don't know much about this band. Good cello work here, reminds me a little of early Murder By Death.

"Staggered Eyes" by the Ronelles from their Motel album. Glasglow band whose music reminds me of early Beatles, Dr.Feelgood and great rollickin' power pop. Easily one of my favorite records of the year.
