Savoy always did good with the Savoy-Doucet Cajun Band. But it's Ronstadt who shines here. She sounds at ease with these songs and does the covers justice.
This nearly got past me, c. Perhaps I've not been paying attention, but I've not seen any press on it so far. Thanks for the tip! Now Playing: "Cool Kids" Buttercup Hot Love

Of the Wand and the Moon - LuciferSort of dark, odd European folk music. Not bad so far.

I'm really enjoying the album. Much as I like Ronstadt, she doesn't always mesh well with the material she covers when she genre hops. None of that here though- I hope she returns to Cajun & folk on her future albums. My favorite killer track on the AFH album is "Walk Away, Renee". quote: "Istenem Drago" by the Astroglides from their new terrific album, Selling Out with the Astroglides. I've heard of them before but I've never heard a song! Sounds awesome, though The Astroglides' early albums were a mix of hardcore punk and surf instrumental. Their brand of punk was pretty awful but their surf instrols were dynamite. Fortunately they dropped the punk from the last two albums and have excelled at the reverb stuff.

I checked that out after you included it in your tracks list elsewhere, c., and picked up the album. "King of Bohemia" came up on my player today and is a pretty fine version. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. Now Playing: The Daily Source Code
