I don't know about most of you, but I am on a budget, or at least trying desperately to stay on one! But I'm addicted to music, and I have a difficult time keeping myself away from the music store.

I thought that this might be a space where we could post questions about CDs that we are interested in buying.

Here's my query: I have been waiting for a LONG time for the new release by The Prodigy, and it's finally here! However, I am distressed by the rather critical reviews I read right here at the metacritic site. An I putting too much stock in the reviews of these "publications"?

Does anybody have any feedback on this new release by The Prodigy? Should I whip out my credit card, or should I save my money? Any thoughts will be much appreciated.

seeing as you were a fan of tyer eprior work just like i was.I would have to say to wait...and buy it used...or buy it on half.com

For me it is a terrible let down...i couldnt help but love prodigys work to date.

But this album is not up to par...it seems haphazardly put together and kind of scatter brained.

Anyways just my thoughts...i have also seen a bunch of bad and some mediocre reviews. Not that that should disuade you from buying the album.

If you could get it for 8 or 9 bucks used or some kind of promo copy.I would get it...but i made the mistake of purchasing it.

There is plent of great electronica out there...stuff that trumps this album. So I would say check that out.

Also...i am sure if you search around u can find samples and songs to preview...check their website and check their labels website!

My local music pundit just gave this a C+, but mostly bemoaned the whole thing. In the same review, he gave the new Faint an A. I don't have anything else to say since I know nothing about either. I do , however, tend to trust the guy, even though he's recently gotten more behind the power curve than I have.

The new Prodigy is definitely, positively, completely NOT worth your $12 or more. Buy it used for no more than $7. This comes from someone who ADORES Experience and Music for the Jilted Generation, and still got into Fat of the Land. This album is not good. Repeat: NOT GOOD. Download "Girls," just ignore the rest.

Best wishes,

Thanks for the helpful feedback! I am going to look for a used copy of the CD.

I am disappointed! I had such high hopes for this release. I wonder what happened?!
