My dad had this old record that he listened to all the time, he really cherished it.
It was the Four Seasons' The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette. I didn't really understand it when I was young. but now I consider it to be an absolutely brilliant album.

my dad is a big dead head. pink floyd, jethro tull, commander cody, new riders, that kind of stuff. in recent years he's gotten in to the blues, and really loves ween and phish. my mom is a suker for bubblegum pop of yesteryear-- the everly brothers, shelly fabres, that kind of stuff. they are oth always down to hear something new though. my dad has an impressive album collection. he's got a little over five hundred, many still in their original plastic.

my moms favorites are the clash, the who, queen, U2, and bruce springsteen. my dads number 1 is the rolling stones, after that he likes a lot of other rock and jazz (beatles, zeppelin, etc.)

The Beatles of course... lots of Elton John and Billy Joel. Poco, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Gram Parsons etc.
On road trips we'd always listen to The Traveling Wilburys Vol 1.

my parents didn't listen to anything or anybody, too busy shouting at each other.

My parents were both into folk stuff in the '60s, like The New Christy Minstrels and Bud and Travis. In the 80s, my mom got more into Billy Joel, and my dad was listening to stuff like Men at Work and the Doobie Brothers, but later on he got really into jazz. Miles Davis is his favorite.

The Beatles Bruce Cockburn Dire Straits/Mark Knopffler Neil Young Bob Dylan Roy Orbison Ry Cooder John Denver Stuff like that, I didn't mind most of it growing up. I've gotten him into a lot of stuff I like these days, so I'm quite impressed with him. Artists like Sufjan Stevens, The National, Iron & Wine, Sam Roberts...

My dad is an avid blueshead. I grew up listening to BB King, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, et al, as well as Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Frank Zappa (a lotta Zappa), Santana, and every and any incarnation of Eric Clapton, from Cream to his newest, boring-pop life.
