Are you talking about Weller and Lydon?
Nope, obviously refers to RuPaul and Elton John
Oh well then, you are crazy.

I agree with you on Nirvana. Nevermind was great, In Utero was O.K./Good. They are overrated. I disagree with the Beatles though. Maybe everyone was making THAT KIND OF MUSIC, but they were making it better than anyone else. Songs like Ticket to Ride, She Loves You, Eight Days a Week, Anna go to him, etc. were great pop music. They may have been one of many, but they still did it the best. I get frustrated when people swear off the Beatles early work, I think it's some pretty good stuff.
Yeah, but what would you rather listen to from the Beatles' career? I guess I just see their second half as being far more listenable and influential, whereas their first half is just derivative love songs (for the most part).

Given the choice between post-Revolver and pre-Sgt Over-rated, I'd gladly take the early stuff.

1. LCD Soundsystem's debut is WAY better than SOS!
2. There is nothing, and I mean nothing special about The Arcade Fire! Not in NB and even less in Funeral. No matter how many times I've listened to those albums I'm completely buffled by the amount of love it gets, and this fact just makes them go down in my book as a hateful band instead of an ok one.

I'm inclined to agree with you about Funeral. Man, did that album get hyped to death (probably due more to their stellar Coachella performance than anything). The songs are not very interesting, and the production obnoxiously lo-fi. I like Neon Bible's sound better, but they're still not as great as every magazine/music fan proclaims them to be.

While we're at it: Bob Dylan is way overrated and over-worshiped in my book. The man can write songs , I'll give him that, but that's it. I would rather listen to my vacuum cleaner than hear him sing another song.

I wondered how long before someone would pounce on that one. I love me some Bob, but yeah he's been deified ad nauseum.

It's true, Bob Dylan's been deified ad nauseum. But I think his voice is part of the experience. Think of some other arguably obnoxious voices: Billy Corgan, Antony, Billie Joe Armstrong, even early David Bowie, any pop punk/emo (Panic at the Disco!, I'm looking in your direction) band out there. I can't see Dylan's voice as any worse than these guys - they all just fit their respective sounds, for better or worse.

I think Modest Mouse are extremely overrated. I mean I think they have a couple of great songs ("Dramamine", "3rd Planet", "Float On") but I find their albums to be extremely inconsistant and I don't much care for Isaac Brock's voice or lyrics. I honestly don't see why they have such a large following.

I see your point and a lot of their older songs from the 90's sound the same, but I still really like their tunes. I was especially surprised with their newest release. the songs didn't overlap in a way that make some CD's boring or repetitive. I highly encourage you to listen to that CD if you haven't already. I know it probably won't change your mind, but maybe you can understand my point better.

What is "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You" derivative of? Before the Beatles rock music was basically the 12-bar blues sped up. While Revolver is definately a better album than Meet The Beatles, Meet The Beatles influenced thousands of bands and changed the direction of music completely.

Once right before they die because after they listen to it they'll die from cancer (because it's bad)
