I always think of REM for great videos: "Everybody Hurts", with an homage to Fellini, and "It's the End of the World As We Know It" and the kid in some broken down shack practicing his skateboard moves by himself.
i was just too lazy to read the whole 4 pages on this thread but i dearly hope that theres been some mention of "michael jackson-thriller". my favorite music video....or was that just assumed?
i also enjoy lily allen-smile
basically her taking revenge on an ex....frickin hilarious
Generally I loathe music videos. I think Radiohead's description of them as 'adverts' is quite appropriate. 9 times out of 10 they just exist to make you interested in something that normally wouldn't interest you at all (dull music).
HOWEVER - I enjoy videos where the medium is over-exploited. Explosions, wind machines, nubile women, guns - all that stuff. I find it very amusing, but it has to be done 115%.
For that reason my favourite video of all time is Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction doing 'Prime Mover'. The video was directed by Adrian Edmonson (Vyvian from 'The Young ones' UK sit com).
Zodiac and his band arrive from space in a flying tank, burst through the wall of a nunnery and shoot electric laser beams from their guitars, turning nuns into sex crazed bondage queens.
Other than that, I quite enjoyed Tenacious D's 'Tribute' video.

If it hasn't already been mentioned, Billy Squier's now famous "Rock Me Tonight" video was one for the ages. I'm quite certain 99.9% of music fans have seen it, but if not, I think it's on youtube (my computer at work won't allow me the go there, thus I can't link it ).
One of the most awesomely bad/great music video moments is in the video for "Avalon" By Roxy Music when Bryan Ferry tries to have a touching moment with the chick wearing that dress with the huge sleeves and he tenderly touches her on the giant sleeve and she looks away like it's too interment. So awesome, then Bryan Ferry walks away all sad.
You seen to be suffering from delusions of adequacy.
-PULP - disco 2000 ...very funny song but if you haven't checked this video...
-sigur ros - vidrar vel til loftarasa ( or something like that:-)) .....2 children kissing after scoring a goal in a soccer game ...silly and significant at the same time..
-built to spill- car...well...this one makes me remember of the wonderful nineties , the guitars , all the afternoon listening to dinosaur jr and neil young...i don't know why..
Brand New - Sic Transit Gloria (awesome concept to one of there best songs) Radiohead - Just (another great concept to an old radiohead song that I have never gotten tired of) Modest Mouse - The Ocean...(kind of makes me sad, but badass nonetheless) My Chemical Romance - Helena (probably best and worst....it's as emo as it gets, but it's terrifically well done)
