I'll do The Smiths' top 20 songs (top 10 is not nearly enough!)

1. The Boy With the Thorn In His Side (The Queen Is Dead)
2. Hand In Glove (The Smiths s/t)
3. Headmaster Ritual (Meat Is Murder)
4. How Soon Is Now? (Meat Is Murder)
5. Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before (Strangeways Here We Come)
6. This Charming Man (The Smiths)
7. There Is a Light That Never Goes Out (The Queen Is Dead)
8. Bigmouth Strikes Again (The Queen Is Dead)
9. The Queen Is Dead (Take Me Back to Dear Old Blighty) (The Queen Is Dead)
10. Cemetry Gates (The Queen Is Dead)
11. Barbarism Begins At Home (Meat Is Murder)
12. Shoplifters of the World Unite (Louder Than Bombs)
13. Still Ill (The Smiths)
14. Ask (Louder Than Bombs)
15. Girlfriend In a Coma (Strangways Here We Come)
16. Panic! (Louder Than Bombs)
17. Frankly Mr Shankly (The Queen Is Dead)
18. Rusholme Ruffians (Meat Is Murder)
19. What Difference Does It Make (The Smiths)
20. William It Was Really Nothing (Hatful of Hollow)

Looking at this list, I'm astonished by how incredibly listenable/relistenable the Smiths catalogue is. I could pick any one of these songs if I wanted to listen to some Smiths and be perfectly content, whereas with other bands when I get to numbers 11 and 12 I'm starting to reach songs that I like but I wouldn't really want to listen to over and over again or wouldn't want to if I was looking to listen to one song from one artist.

No "Sodom, South Georgia"? That's my favorite Iron and Wine song.

And man, you must really have liked the Woman King EP. I really wasn't a fan of either of the EP's from last year. Does anybody know if Beam's got a nwe album planned? I mean most of the stuff from the EP's was stuff he had written from a few years ago, so if he's written anything in the last couple years, he should have enough songs for a new album.

"Sodom, South Georgia" would have been among the next 5 songs had I continued. I do love the Woman King ep, probably a bit more than either full length. I haven't heard anything on another album or ep from Beam.

I'll try to do a list of Pink Floyd's stuff, but it's hard to remember all of their songs. Might be a few egregious overlookings.

1. Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun (A Saucerful of Secrets)
2. Sheep (Animals)
3. Wish You Were Here (Wish You Were Here)
4. One of My Turns (The Wall)
5. Echoes (Meddle)
6. Time (The Dark Side of the Moon)
7. Have A Cigar (Wish You Were Here) - gets in mostly because of the lyrics
8. Money (The Dark Side of the Moon) - one of the best bass lines in history
9. Goodbye Blue Sky (The Wall)
10. Shine on You Crazy Diamond (Wish You Were Here)

I much prefer the post-Sid Barrett era of Pink Floyd, so if you're into that you probably greatly disagree with my list. I think Wish You Were Here is their best album, so there's a noticable skew to it also.

Strange choices from The Wall. Though I admit I've heard "The Happiest Days of our Lives/Another Brick and the Wall pt.2" a few too many times, that album spawned some incredibly classic singles: "Comfortably Numb", "Hey You", "Mother", and "Young Lust"

Yeah, I considered putting "Mother" or "Comfortably Numb" on there. I'm in the same boat as you, though. The classic rock station in my town plays these songs constantly. I've worked a couple of jobs where the station is always on, and I just can't appreciate them the way I used to. Too bad, really.
