How did "Ballad of Big Nothing" and "Needle in the Hay" not make the cut? Those are easily two of Elliot Smith's best tracks. I'd also champion "Son of Sam" and "Bled White".

I can't stand "Needle In the Hay." It may be my least favorite Elliott Smith song. "Ballad of Big Nothing" is a good one, and was close to making the cut. As for "Son of Sam" and "Bled White," I guess I'm mostly a bigger fan of his slower, sadder songs.

I don't think you'd like it. They're pre-Girls Can Tell work is quite a bit different in terms of their sound. It's more of a straight-up indie rock sound. "Advance Cassette" is a great track though. It probably sounds the closest to what they're doing now.
