Inspired by the argument in the Perfect Albums thread over Michelle from Rubber Soul I was wondering if anyone else had any choices for albums that are let down by one track. I don't mean that it's a bad track, but that it's not up to the standard of the rest of the album, or there's something a bit off about it, which without the offending song the album would be absolutely perfect, but with it is only a really good album. So to start us off:

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
You Make Loving Fun I have no idea why, I always think I like this song then I hear it and I realise I don't. There's something a bit off, like my brain doesn't like something in it. Bad almost faux-funk at the start and the voice in the start gets one my nerves, basically it's the first 2mins 30 that I don't like, it's completely unlike the rest of the album and it doesn't sit right in my head when it comes on. The ending of that song is brilliant though. Which is why I often forget that something about it annoys me, because by the time Rumours is over I've forgotten the small low point at the start of this track.

Prince - Purple Rain
Let's Go Crazy The very start of the album for one minute Prince recites what amounts to bullshit and it really pisses me off me that he could have just gone straight into what is an amazing song, but ruins it for me because every time I have to skip the first minute of the CD or listen to it but get really annoyed that this is on the album.

Legitimate points, but a bit harsh, at least to me. Those parts don't bother me at all. Especially since Prince is announcing why the album is what it is. (I think.) I'm entertaining, so maybe I'll get back here later.
