According to the government's own calculations, every dollar given to the arts comes back as $1.36 in general revenue. We should be increasing arts funding during this recession, not cutting it. Take a stand.

It would be interesting to see their budget breakdown. Governments are typically so wasteful, filled with pork-related projects. It probably be more productive if this group recommended something to cut to save the arts instead of just giving a blanket demand, "Save The Arts!"

Admittedly, the arts could have used some cuts. It amazing just how stupid some of the projects they greenlight are. But these cuts are having the effect of shutting down proper festivals, celebrations [like this year's Parade Of Lost Souls for halloween], and actively strip colleges of their ability to properly educate in artist pursuits. They'd much rather we all went into construction.

Yeah, one of by friends are bitching about that also. But as much as I love the arts, I don't really see that many shows enough to help. Haha, sorry, I feel like a little bitch for saying that.
