Let me guess, How to Disappear Completely (perfect), Idioteque and Optimistic?

"Everything In Its Right Place" is one of my favorite songs by the band. "The National Anthem" (stick that up your ass, Eric!) and "Idioteque" also impress me. "Optimistic" is OK.

I like "Treefingers." Much better than the title track, at least.

I like it too(despite my last place ranking), but I would say that it is the one that isn't really a song. It's more of a segue. I think it does a good job of transitioning from "How to Disappear Completely" to "Optimistic", but if I just listen to that song, I'd be bored to tears.

You rated "Hummingbird" and "Handshake Drugs" as the two worst songs on AGIB. You're already on the "irreconcilable differences" watch. If I were you, I'd watch what I say Wink

I had no idea there was so much love for "The National Anthem". Upon further review, I'll move it ahead of "Treefingers". It does have a kind of menacing bassline.

I should also say I never got the love for "How to Disappear Completely". It's an okay song, but kind of a bore.

I always thought the strength of Kid A was in it's second half. I could take or leave "Kid A" through "Treefingers".

Actually, "Kid A" is a decent track, but I don't really like the heavy effect Thom runs the vocals through ("he's more machine than man now, Luke"). I hate to say this on these forums, and I'll probably take a lot of crap for it, but what really made me appreciate that song was hearing John Mayer's cover.

"Treefingers" is a lovely ambient piece. Easily short enough not to tax my attention span.

Also, I like it a fair cut better than the two tracks that precede and follow it.

4. Candle
5. Silver Rocket

10. Trilogy (I like parts of the song, but it's a bit long)
11. Providence

I like Sister much better than Daydream Nation.

I'm just here to provide random annoying comments by the way. I probably won't get the motivation to make a list. If I do, it'll be Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. Probably.

My favorite Sonic Youth album is Evol. To be honest, I've always thought Daydream Nation is a bit of a slog. It's got some great songs on it, but Kim Gordon is really annoying on a few songs and Providence is just pointless. Sister is a great record though. Probably my third favorite Sonic Youth record.

Yeah, Daydream drags quite a bit. I do like it though.

For the hell of it, Yoshimi:

1. "Fight Test" 10
2. "It's Summertime" 10
3. "All We Have Is Now" 10
4. "Do You Realize??" 10
5. "In The Morning Of The Magicians" 10
6. "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 1" 10
7. "One More Robot/Sympathy 3000-21" 10
8. "Are You a Hypnotist??" 10
9. "Ego Tripping At The Gates Of Hell" 10
10. "Approaching Pavonis Mons by Balloon (Utopia Planitia)" 9
11. "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 2" 7

The first nine or ten are basically tied.

This is the band's definitive track list. Also, excluded really long subtitles.

I think most people are going to hate you for not placing "Waitin' For A Superman" in the top 3, if not the very top.
