sorry, i didn't think anybody would have trouble recognising the title; i thought that bruce springsteen's magnum opus was as much a household name as sgt pepper's lonely hearts club band or purple rain. i'll amend it right away.

quote: Originally posted by Moses, R.M.: Ok, enough with the stupid numbers on the side to rank the song from 1-10. Is that needed? It's confusing first of all, 2nd of all, if it's a record you like, why would you even care to rate a song a 5 or a 6? Just rank the songs from first (your favorite) to last (your least favorite). No one is gonna hurt the feelings of "Crown of Love" if it gets rated a 6.5 or is the ninth best song on your Funeral list.
I'll do one of the most criminally underrated records of not only the 90's, but maybe, ever...REM's 1996 masterpiece, New Adventures in Hi-Fi. It was solely recorded, ON THE ROAD! during the Monster tour.
1. Electrolite 2. How the West Was Won and Where It Got Us 3. So Fast, So Numb 4. New Test Leper 5. E-Bow the Letter 6. Bittersweet Me 7. Leave 8. Undertow 9. The Wake Up Bomb 10. Low Desert 11. Be Mine 12. Binky the Doormat 13. Departure 14. Zither
So, would Undertow be like an 8 and Zither around a 6.5???

Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix Experience 10s: "Crosstwon Traffic" "All Along The Watchtower" "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" "1983...(A Merman I Should Turn To Be)" 9s: "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" "Come On (Part 1)" ""Rainy Day, Dream Away" "Voodoo Chile" 8s: "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" "House Burning Down" "Long Hot Summer Night" "Gypsy Eyes" 7s: "...And The Gods Made Love" "Have You Ever Been (To Electric Ladyland)" "Moon Turn The Tides...gently gently away" Noel Redding: "Little Miss Strange" (to be fair, Jimi makes it sound halfway decent).

1. "Range Life" 2. "Stop Breathin'" 3. "Silent Kit" 4. "5-4=Unity" 5. "Elevate Me Later" 6. "Gold Soundz" 7. "Cut Your Hair" 8. "Heaven Is A Truck" 9. "Newark Wilder" 10. "Hit The Plane Down" 11. "Unfair" - 12. "Filmore Jive"
Weird... I listened to this (well the 2 disc reissue) on the way home from work today with the expressed intent to rank it for this discussion. Ahh well, your order is close enough...sort of. I'd put "unfair" at numero uno and "filmore jive" closer to the top though, if only because I've had a bad bought of insomnia lately. To weigh in on the "5-4 = Unity" - have you heard the version with vocals. The vocals seem horribly out of place after being used to it as an instrumental track. Overall I think the later half is the strong half of Crooked Rain. I've got another album in mind for tomorrow, hopefully you won't sneak it in before me .

Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)1. Tearz 2. Bring Da Ruckus 3. Method Man 4. Protect Ya Neck 5. Clan in Da Front 6. C.R.E.A.M. 7. Wu-Tang: 7th Chamber 8. Shame on a Nigga 9. Wu-Tang: 7th Chamber, Pt. 2 10. Da Mystery of Chessboxin’ 11. Ain’t Nothin’ Ta Fuck With 12. Can It Be All So Simple Like pixie, I listened to this album all day with the intention of ranking it. I absolutely love this album and you can’t really fault any of it. It’s seamless in its overall sound and cohesiveness and in terms of significance; it’s the cream of the crop. All of the nine MCs featured on here are immensely talented and gifted rappers and paired with the RZA’s perfect production made one of the best hip-hip albums of all time.

South Town Girls of course every single song on the album is great so it is impossible to put these in a real order from best to worst, but that was my shot.
So... anyway. My disc only has 11 tracks on it. Are "Arms and Hearts" and "Girls like Status" b-sides or something?

Nope, those two songs were bonus tracks from i-tunes. "Southtown Girls" is the last song on the track list.
I had a stick of CareFree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor I was back to pondering my mortality.

Ooh, finally I feel compelled to rank an album of my own. I Know It's True But I'm Sorry To Say 03. Hallowed Ground 04. I Hear the Rain 05. It's Gonna Rain 06. Never Tell 07. Black Girls 08. Jesus Walking on the Water 09. Sweet Misery Blues
