I hope this thread will help everyone to listen to the best songs of the best records ever according to the MC users. You rank the songs of a same album from the best song to the least good song. It's the same ranking system that we made in the In Rainbows thread. I'll start the thread with my favorite record, A Ghost is born. You can also add some comments for your favorite songs.
Wilco - A ghost is born:
1. Hell is chrome - 10 2. Less than you think (yes, including the 13 minutes of distortion) - 10 3. At least that's what you said - 10 4. Wishful thinking - 9 5. Spiders (kidsmoke) - 9 6. The late greats - 9 7. Company in my back - 9 8. Muzzle of bees - 9 9. Theologians - 8 10.I'm a wheel - 8 11. Handshake drugs - 8 12. Hummingbird - 7

You made an error, the list is backwards...
==== What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
Hmmm, this is rather difficult. I mean, what scale do you use for your favorite record? On a scale relative to every song, almost everything on my top 5 five albums would be at least an 8. Guess I'm just gonna roll with it.
Blood on the Tracks
1. "Idiot Wind" - 10 2. "Tangled Up In Blue" - 10 3. "Simple Twist of Fate" - 10 4. "Shelter From the Storm" - 10 5. "If You See Her, Say Hello" - 10 6. "Meet Me In The Morning" - 10 (a bit out of place, but awesome song!) 7. "You're A Big Girl Now" - 9 8. "Buckets of Rain" - 9 9. "Lily, Rosemary and the Jack Of Hearts" - 8 10. "You're Gonna Me Lonesome When You Go" - 8

Intriguing. They play song-elimination game on another forum to which I subscribe. They did BOTT recently; "Lily..." was the first one to go. I know you've ranked yours internally, less, but I think "Lily..." is a great song and worthy of a higher placing. But I'm well and truly in the minority, it seems.
+++++++++++++++++ Nalgaphobia: the irrational fear of prosthetic buttocks.
1. Like A Rolling Stone - 10 2. Queen Jane Approximately (sentimental favorite for me) - 10 3. Desolation Row - 10 4. Ballad of a Thin Man - 10 5. Highway 61 Revisited - 9 6. It Takes A Lot to Laugh, It Takes A Train to Cry - 9 7. Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues - 8 8. From A Buick 6 - 8 9. Tombstone Blues - 8

It just feels a little too long for its own good. Plus it's just way out of place, lyrically.
ok, hope this isn't too random but... Weezer - The Blue Album
1. Say It Ain't So - 10 2. My Name Is Jonas - 10 3. Buddy Holly - 10 4. Only In Dreams - 9 5. The World Has Turned And Left Me Here - 9 6. Undone (The Sweater Song) - 8 7. Holiday - 8 8. Surf Wax America - 7 9. No One Else - 7 10. In The Garage - 7
I've left these in track order, not in order of how I rank them. Mostly because it made it easier to do, secondly because it means you don't know what thenext one on the list will get.
Pet Sounds:
1. Wouldn't it be nice - 10 2. You still believe in me - 10 3. That's not me - 10 4. Don't talk (Put your head on my shoulder) - 10 5. I'm waiting for the day - 10 6. Let's go away for a while - 10 7. Sloop John B - 10 8. God only knows - 11 9. I know there's an answer - 10 10. Here today - 10 11. I wasn't made for these times - 10 12. Pet sounds - 10 13. Caroline, no - 10
1. Here Comes Your Man 2. Wave of Mutilation 3. Debaser 4. Gouge Away 5. Monkey Gone To Heaven 6. Hey 7. I Bleed 8. Mr. Grieves 9. There Goes My Gun 10. Tame 11. Dead 12. La La Love You (almost ranked this lower, but drummer David Lovering's Morrissey-aping vocals kind of save it) 13. No. 13 Baby (where else would I put this?) 14. Silver (Kim Deal's contribution to Surfer Rosa is the star of the show, but this is just kinda meh) 15. Crackity Jones (If this is the worst Doolittle has to offer, it's not so bad)
I'm going to forgo the scoring system, as nobody seems to be using it very judiciously anyway.
----- I’ll be Ben Gazzara, you’ll be Gena Rowlands.

almost exactly the same list i would've made, except for there goes my gun, which i would've put for number 6 and i would've put silver at 12.
since i was going to do doolittle, but you beat me to the punch, i'll go with another album that's contender for my favourite ever:
born to run (bruce springsteen)
1) backstreets 2) born to run 3) thunder road 4) jungleland 5) tenth avenue freeze-out 6) she's the one 7) meeting acro 8) night
