I'm just going to put some albums out there no one's mentioned yet, or at least haven't been mentioned very much in my eyes. Why do this? Because most of you people have the same 5 - 7 albums on your top 10s, which is as predictable as it is disappointing.
I'm repeating artists/bands only because there's no requirement against it. Here ya go:
At the Drive-In - El Gran Orgo ('97) Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Slow Riot for New Zero Kanada EP ('99) Le Tigre - s/t ('99) Neurosis - Through Silver in Blood ('96) Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt ('96) Mos Def - Black on Both Sides ('99) Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F Sharp A Sharp Infinity ('98) At the Drive-In - Vaya EP ('99) Neurosis - In Times of Grace ('99) Common Sense - Resurrection ('94?) The Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the 36 Chambers ('96?) At the Drive-In - Acrobatic Tenement ('96) Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die ('94) Ice Cube - AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted ('90) At the Drive-In - In Casino Out ('98)
So regarding rock (that is to say non-hip-hop), I seem to prefer the later '90s, whereas for hip-hop I seem to prefer the earlier 90s -- overall.

Your trolling is getting old, and quickly. Consider this a final attempt to ask you, NICELY, to act like a decent human being in your interactions with others here. The constant slagging of "you people" in these Forums will stop, or you'll be going away for good. I know you've got it in you because at least half of your posts (the ones that aren't trollish) seem to be genuine attempts to discuss music with the members here.
If you want to play nice, then feel free to stay. If not, then I'll remove you from the Forums and you can start a blog and insult people there.

Wow I am really impressed by the depth and character of everyone's list. But I have only seen one mention on a great album: Oasis-Definitely Maybe
Maybe this album didn't start the Britpop era, but this and Parklife were the defining statements of the era (with apologies to Pulp-A Different Class, and The Manics-Everything Must Go). That record is a truly unbelievable debut, and the band has spent the last 12 years trying to follow it up.

I don't mind that album, but I think it's the most un-RHCP RHCP album they made. I think for most people, it was sort of a let down because it wasn't as great as it should've been. RHCP was a great band at the time, and everybody still had fond memories of Jane's Addiction. It was like two great tastes that just tasted okay together.
Speaking of Dave Navarro...What the hell happened to him. When I was in high school, he was just about as edgy and cool of a guy in rock as you could get. Now, he's a total lame ass. I think marrying Carmen Electra softened him.

I've already posted my list, and homogenic's rating is somewhere around 11/10, but why am I the only one who lists any of Grant Lee Buffalo's albums? All four are tremendous; at least I think so.
