So... basically you're going to say every week what your top 20 is? I dunno, I doubt my overall top 20 would change on a weekly basis.

------
Aren't there any girls out their who like good music? I need to and want to meet them. My favorite bands are Overkill River, The Nife, Songs:Ohio, and Nuetral Milk Hotel. Please let me know if your into indy music and like to go to show's and drink beer's and makeout.

I agree. I don't usually even keep 20 albums in rotation during a week.

This was what I listened last week. I listen to over 40 albums a week. Think of it as an airplay chart.
My favourite album of all time is probably Kid A. Though I listened to it so much I'm kinda sick of it right now.

You'll fit right in at home, then - everyone here except for me seems to think Kid A is the greatest thing to ever happen to music. Wink

I generally use www.last.fm for seeing what I've listened to, though they don't exactly keep track of albums. Usually I'll fixate on a few artists per week, though just as often as not I'll just let iTunes do party shuffle.

I might. If I didn't have to do things like work and sleep. Also, there's a few television programs I like. And, I like to leave the house occasionally. So, no, I usually don't listen to 20 albums a week either.

24. Student. No job. Few hours. A lot of time. Feels great. I'll enjoy it 'till I can. Also read lots. Smiler

Kid A is not a typicall album. I think it's a masterpiece, but I have a thing for rock-electronic muscic.
I started to be an "indie guy" about an year and half ago. I know curent music, but I'm just discovering lots of oldie classics. I don't mean the beatles, I know them, but bands like Pavement, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Bowie(I know, this one's not a band).

You sure know how to make someone feel old when you start referring to Pavement, The Pixies, and Sonic Youth as "oldies". Although the Classic Rock station where I live has recently added R.E.M. to their rotation, which also makes me feel old. Nothing like hearing "It's the End of the World As We Know It" sandwiched between "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Freebird".

You should enjoy it while you can. You should post in the book discussions too, they've been lacking.

You think that's bad, my local classic rock station has added Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, and a myriad of other nineties bands. I swear I heard "All Apologies (unplugged)" followed by "Keep on Lovin' You" by REO. AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

The classic rock station in my town started playing Soundgarden and Green Day (stuff from Dookie) like three or four years. It made me feel old, and I was only like 20 at the time Red Face

I am old.... but I listen to about 5 new albums a week... its a running thing dictated by about 50 minutes... and lately I've found new and old:

You in Reverse - Built to Spill

Gran Turismo - The Cardigans

Snakes and Ladders - The Faces

DFA Remixes Ch. 1 - DFA

The Clarence Greenwood Recordings - Citizen Cope

Makes for a nice run...

Here's my latest chart. Joanna Newsom – Ys is the album everyone is talking about and so far I like it. Trail of dead are at 17 with their classic, but sadly I'm not impressed by their 2006 release. Spoon – Gimme Fiction(2005)is an excellent album, keeps growing on me each month. Enjoy the rest. I appreciate any input.

A few albums on there that i got because they were on everybody's lists, and consequently are frequently played. I wonder if when i get bored with 90's albums i'll keep going backwards because the 80's doesn't look good from here.

Is it just me or just "loveless" by my bloody valentine sound similar to the noise and aeroplane makes when flying over head?

The head of state has called for me, but I don't have time for him

There's a ton of great music from the 80s. I'm not sure why indie kids like to turn their nose up at the 80s.

The 80s were great. Talking Heads, Joy Division, Tom Waits, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pixies, Sonic Youth, R.E.M., The Police, The Replacements, Nick Cave, The Go-Betweens, The Fall, all sorts of hardcore and post-punk bands...the list could go on forever.

One of the biggest "wha?" moments for me can when I heard "It's the End of the World As We Know It" on the "Chicken Little" soundtrack I bought for my son last Christmas. When, exactly, did R.E.M. become kiddie fare?
