Ugh. Lately I've been feeling like crap. I appear to have contracted some incredibly vicious strain of Ebola or something - in any case, I'm miserable and I've been thinking about what music is good to listen to when you're sick like this.
So far I've come up with these albums:
Personal Stereo - Flunk
Because it was one of my favorite albums of last year, and it's sedate and relaxing.
A Strangely Isolated Place - Ulrich Schnauss
Because it's one of my favorite albums ever, and Ulrich makes everything feel OK.
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots - The Flaming Lips
Needs no explanation.
... And that's about it for now. So here's the question: when you're feeling bad, what do you listen to that makes you feel better?
"Listen to the silence in between. It's louder than the bombs when they come screaming in."
The worst flu I've suffered through happened upon the release of Dylan's Blood on the Tracks. It was pretty much what I listened to while sick & trying to recover. Out of habit, that album is now part of the get-well prescription. I also listen to prog and space rock when sick. There's a great Rhino v/a prog box set- Supernatural Fairy Tales -I dug into the last time I had a bad cold/fever.
i was sick as a dog this past week while away on vacation. i wanted to listen to music but damn if i wasn't in the worst mood ever and damned anything that bothered me at a time i didn't want it to. i get wild mood swings basically (insert Cure reference here). and also, my ears are too sensitive for any type of music usually
Mix a little folly with your plans: It is sweet to be silly at the right moment.
